🦉 The Eurasian nuthatch or wood nuthatch (Sitta europaea)
- Sitta sittē (Greek) mentioned by Aristotle and other ancient Greek. by the authors of the bird, something similar to the woodpecker
- europaea (lat.) European

It is difficult to confuse this bird with others because of its habit of rushing along tree trunks like a wind-up animal. Moreover, in any direction, and even upside down. And all this thanks to the very tenacious claws on its feet.
Its voice is sharp, like someone tapping a metal spoon on a mug: "twit-twit-twit." And their voices are heard almost all year round (except for summer), even in winter, when other birds are silent.

And nuthatches are also quite impudent. If you hang a feeder, for example, they will not pay attention to the tit sitting in it, it will simply push everyone around and take its own.
And after it gets the prey, the nuthatch will start hiding it in the cracks of the bark and the recesses of the branches.
