🦉 The willow tit (Poecile montanus)

  • Poecile poikilis (Greek) an unidentified small bird mentioned in ancient texts
  • montanus (lat .) : mōns, montis mountain, mountain range, montanus mountain

This little grey bird with a round head and a black "cap" is a real bundle of energy. It does not sit on branches, but is constantly on the move. Except, of course, in spring and the mating season, when the male can sit on a branch and perform his mating songs, which sound sad and beautiful and melancholic.

But their calls are very different from the song, they are rough and hoarse, you will not confuse them with anything.
In parks and groves where birds are constantly accustomed to watching people, they become completely tame. And if you extend your palm with a treat to them, they will certainly sit down and take a seed or nut.
