🦉 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)
- Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
- flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow

This little sunny little thing with a motor seems to be made to please the eye. Bright yellow belly, olive back and that same restless tail that constantly swings up and down like a spring in a wind-up toy.
The Yellow Wagtail is a true child of fields and meadows. Unlike its urban relative, it avoids asphalt, preferring open spaces, river banks and damp meadows. Here it nimbly runs among the grass, pausing every few seconds to grab an insect.

Every early May I go out of town to the meadows near the river to admire these graceful birds while there is still no vegetation, and these birds are easy to see. But sometimes I visit them in the summer, the photos are especially beautiful in the middle of the rapeseed field.

Сегодня на прогулке встретил эту желтую трясогузку.
Но она не захотела позировать.
