Birdwatching - 3030 🐦

🦉 The yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)
- Emberiza embritz (Old German) bunting
- citrinella citrine (lat.) yellow; citrinella (Italian) yellow bird

Although these birds are wintering, they prefer to leave my region far away, where it is warm. And they arrive in early April, when there is still snow. When the mating season begins, the males sing actively, sitting motionless on the branches. At these moments, you can even approach them closer, but at a reasonable distance.

This species is the least secretive, unlike other birds of this family. It prefers open places, sitting on branches.
This friend in the photo was very close to me, I even had to move away from him so that he would fit into the frame entirely. He was just doing his own thing: singing a song, and looking for various insects and worms on the ground and grass.

STOPИнтересно, почему так много птиц с желты цветом оперенья? Маскироваться помогает? А красные снегири как?
