Birdwatching - 3018 🐦

🦉 The grey heron (Ardea cinerea)
- Ardea (lat.) heron
- cinerea lat.: cineris ash, cinereus, cineraceus ash gray

I meet these birds very rarely, usually in spring by the river or in autumn, in the same places. And usually our meetings are when I start to come closer, they immediately fly away. And they fly hard, apparently that is why they have developed an instinct that makes the bird fly away as soon as it sees danger.

There is a rumor that herons really don't like gray crows. The fact is that crows like to steal food from herons. And since crows are smaller, they are also quicker, so herons have to just put up with the lost prey.
