🦉 The tree pipit (Anthus trivialis)

  • Anthus (ancient Greek mythology) Antus, son of Hippodamia, turned into a bird
  • Trivialis (lat.) common, simple, banal

This forest wagtail is often found in forests, and any forest. No matter what forest I go to, there are always these birds there. The main thing is that there is enough grass in which the insects that this bird feeds on hide. In the spring, while the grass is just beginning to grow, you can see how this bird wanders along the ground and catches insects. If the bird stops and freezes, it will be very difficult to notice it due to its coloring.

We call this bird something like a "forest little horse", and it received this name due to the way it moves on the ground - in short dashes, similar to the movements of a horse.
And yes, if you look closely at photos 1 and 3, you will notice that the bird is missing part of its leg.
