🦉 The black kite (Milvus migrans)
- Milvus (lat) - kite
- migrans (lat.) - migrating

These birds of prey are easily identified by their V-shaped tail. They arrive early, in early April, when the snow has just begun to melt. At this time, these birds still stay in the forests, and only then begin to fly into the city.

In the wild, they are very reluctant to catch small rodents, nestlings, preferring carrion. In the city, they fly in circles over the yards and look for what they can profit from in the garbage cans.
On the river they catch fish, which is quite difficult for them, but experienced birds can do this too.
