What's the worth?
If WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE, THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF LIVING?
We’ve all asked ourselves this question at some point in our lives, whether quietly in the middle of the night or loudly amid an intense frustration. What’s the point of all these? If death is the end of all our struggles in life, then why do we hustle? Why try? Why do we endure insult, failure, pressure, and pain, only to disappear at the end?
It’s easy to feel discouraged when life is hard. Some people are working day and night but still struggling to pay bills. Others are trying their best in school or in their various business, but things keep falling apart. Some are surrounded by people, yet feel empty inside. So again, I ask, “Why do we go through all this stress? Why do we have to suffer?”
But maybe we’re looking at it the wrong way. Maybe the purpose of life isn’t just about comfort but about growth, learning, and becoming better.
For example, think of a baby learning to walk. In the process of walking, the baby falls many times. Sometimes the baby even cries but gradually, the baby keeps getting up. Eventually, they learn to walk, then run.
In life, we are like that baby. We fall, we fail, we cry but every experience is teaching us something. We may not like the pain, but we need it. Pain teaches us patience, strength, and wisdom. Without struggle, we won’t grow in life.
Some people feel like their job or daily routine is meaningless. They say, “I’m just working to sort my bills, so what’s the point now?” But purpose doesn’t always look big or special. A teacher might feel tired, but they are shaping the future. A mechanic might think his job is small, but he’s helping others move forward. A mother who is cooking and caring for her children is building strong lives.
Purpose is not just about fame or money but it’s about impact. No one likes to fail but failure is a teacher. When you fail in a business, you learn what not to do next time. When you fail in relationships, you understand what kind of people to avoid and how to be a better partner. Failure shapes us. It doesn’t mean we’re useless. It means that we’re learning. Just like gold is purified by fire, we are also refined through our challenges.
Many people think purpose is something you find suddenly, like a treasure, and initially, purpose is something we build over time. It’s not just one thing. It’s how we treat people, what we create, and the difference we make. Purpose grows when we decide to keep showing up, even when we don’t feel like it. Even waking up each day and doing your best can be part of your purpose. You don’t have to figure everything out now. Just take one step at a time and with time and adequate consistency, a purposeful change will surely occur.
