The journey begins

Hello, Hive.

Failure is not the end of a successful journey; it is the beginning of a story yet unraveled. A few days ago, I determined to journey into crocheting, and since then, I've been trying to learn by watching many YouTube videos. Learning sure takes time, but the joy is the success ahead. Not giving up is also one of the ways to forge ahead amidst disappointment and frustration. Having those who support and encourage one in every step to greatness is a beautiful thing. I made all necessary inquiries before starting the process, learning how to change hands and neaten the knit; though it was difficult at first, I never gave up.

This morning, I woke up as early as seven and began making my first crochet chain. This is the first process in any crocheting. I am making a chain on which other yarn will be built to knit any desired style of my choice. At first, I tried the first one, which I couldn't because I got the handling wrong. I repeated the process but got it wrong. I had to go watch some videos again to refresh my brain. At last, I got the handling right, which was how I made my first knot. The joy in me was as if I hit the jackpot. Indeed, victory is sweet; witnessing it makes me believe so. Gradually, I began to make the chain one after the other, gently and accordingly. I was being so careful not to make mistakes, but how careful can I be? Mistakes are sure inevitable; along the way, I made several mistakes that made me lose all I've knitted and start all over again. I can't count how many times I've restarted before I finally got my desired chain.

The joy in me knew no bounds; my sister and my friend were both cheering me up. I felt good about the new journey, and I believe it's going to be a thing of pride for me and those who supported me. I can't help but thank @monica-ene for her words of encouragement and support. The fear of failure has ruined many untold success stories. Many fear trying new things because they don't want to fail and don't want people to talk about them one way or the other. While still trying to hide under fear, time is not going to wait, and the world will keep developing. Making good use of opportunities and one's time makes a big difference in people's stories. Crocheting is a treasure I lost back in childhood when I thought it was a thing of oldies when I should have learned and paid close attention. It was an inbuilt passion lost to disinterest and the wrong mentality, but I'm glad I found it back. It seems late, but not too late. In a journey of success, it's never too late to start, and with dedication and consistency, it will be faster and easier than expected. I will await your comments and corrections on my first trial.
