My ideal weekend
My ideal weekend begins on a slow Saturday morning without an alarm, I love enjoying my sleep during the weekends, though I need to work on weekends. Before the start of the day, breakfast is important so after having my oral care, the next thing I do is eat. Good food is needed for energy to start a bright day.
I am a typical Nigerian lady, and weekends in this part of the world, especially for my tribe, are a party, which we call owambe. But for me, I guess I am a bit different because I'm not a social type. I find comfort in the corners of my room. I love staying in my room once I have access to the Internet, I'm good to go. Weekends are for resting, but for a hustling youth like myself, weekdays and weekends are for work nonstop, though I find time to rest in between the struggles. Many activities go on weekends for me, but my ideal weekend is on repeat; that's the activity I engage in every weekend: working on my PC. My ideal weekend is all about comfort, creativity, and doing what I love right in the cozy corner of my room.
As a writer, I am always busy with writing, either trying to get in on time before the closing of a prompt or drafting down stories just in case I need them anytime soon. Recently, I took up a new passion to learn data analysis and it's been a lot of work. I developed this passion after I saw how my younger brother became a professional after learning intensively, and he's always saying it to my face that I'm too old to learn, but I believe age isn't a limit to learning. This gets me stuck to my PC daily trying to improve my skills.
Not just this, learning graphic design is a lot of fun, I'm an amateur, though, but with the help of Canva, I've gotten myself braced up and created some beautiful designs for myself. The hours fly by because I'm doing something meaningful and engaging. I take breaks to grab a snack, reply to messages from friends and colleagues from school as I am still a student. As a foodie, I enjoyed munching on some snacks while I worked, mostly sugar-free biscuits with chilled orange juice. It gives me the energy I need to carry on without getting tired. Everything seems cool and in my control, no drama whatsoever. Just like the saying, the outside is expensive but being in my room costs me less😂😂 and makes me save more as a student.
Sunday is similar with a slight difference, and that's taking time out to arrange my bag for school the next day, which is Monday. By the end of the week, I feel relaxed and accomplished because I didn't waste away my weekends. Without even stepping outside, that to me is the perfect recharge. My ideal weekend is filled with learning new things and improving on previous skills and that is a great thing to do.
