Alcohol should be banned from our society

What a wonderful topic! I won't be taking sides with alcohol because I detest it so much. I tried to figure out the pleasure people get from alcohol, but I couldn't see any. Why is the world flooded with people addicted to alcohol? Although, health-wise, someone told me that a little portion of alcohol isn't so bad, but people are abusing it so much.

Alcohol can have significant negative impacts on human health if consumed in excess. Moderate drinking may not cause as many issues, but even light drinking poses some risks. Overall, the risks generally increase the more a person drinks.

One of the major health effects of excessive alcohol consumption is damage to the liver. Heavy drinking over many years could lead to alcoholic liver disease, or cirrhosis. This is a serious condition that involves scarring of the liver and poor liver function. Some signs of alcoholic liver disease include fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, weight loss, and jaundice. In severe cases, liver cirrhosis can be life-threatening. This is what many alcohol addicts have no knowledge of.

According to medical personnel, alcohol also impacts the pancreas. Heavy alcohol use has been shown to increase the risk of pancreatitis, which is inflammation and damage to the pancreas. Pancreatitis causes pain in the upper abdomen and back that can radiate to the back. It can range from mild to severe and potentially life-threatening in some cases. Chronic pancreatitis is often due to long-term heavy drinking.

Drinking too much on a regular basis takes a toll on the heart as well. Excessive drinking is also detrimental to brain health. Heavy alcohol use has been linked to impairments in memory, mood, and behavior. It can worsen pre-existing mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Heavy drinkers also face an increased risk of stroke, which involves memory loss. In some cases, alcohol withdrawal can cause seizures, and in rare cases, it can involve severe confusion and hallucinations.

Cancer is another significant health risk of chronic heavy drinking. Types of cancer that are known to be associated with alcohol include cancers of the mouth, esophagus, larynx, liver, breast, and colon. The risk increases with higher intake amounts and longer durations of heavy drinking.

On the other hand, when we talk of hard drugs, this is a lot worse than we can imagine. Hard drugs such as heroin and cocaine can have profoundly damaging effects on a person's health and life. Addiction, overdose, physical health issues, mental health problems, and legal and financial issues are all effects of hard drugs.

A person addicted to hard drugs will surely take an overdose, which will lead to organ damage and eventually lead to death. Such a person will also have physical health problems such as liver disease, kidney problems, collapsed veins, and many more.

A drug addict will also have mental issues such as anxiety and depression. Afterward, such individuals will have legal and financial problems, like involving themselves in thefts to fund themselves to get the drugs. This can also lead to misbehavior in society, going as far as murdering someone because he or she is not sane.

As much as alcohol should be avoided, so should hard drugs. While moderate alcohol consumption may not lead to serious health issues for many people, heavy drinking or little drinking can damage nearly every organ system in the body over time. The risks grow higher the more a person drinks regularly. It's important for anyone who drinks to do so in moderation or avoid alcohol entirely to protect their long-term health and well-being.

Both alcohol and hard drugs are evil to society, and if I have the power, as stated in the prompt, I will ban alcohol entirely from society. From my perspective, I believe our society would be a better place in the absence of alcohol because it's been abused at a high rate. You will see young boys taking alcohol as if it's nothing. It is so disheartening, which is another reason why I detest people who drink. I can't say many are ignorant about the damaging effects; they don't just care, and that is putting our society in daily danger.

You will see some men after drinking getting involved in domestic violence, beating up their wives and children, all because they are drunk. Alcohol is not healthy for health, the family, or society at large.

Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.

Your points are also valid, some people tend to misbehave when they take too much alcohol and most people need to avoid it totally because their head can’t even carry little

I understand your desire to ban alcohol entirely, but I think it's important to consider the effect it will have on society as a whole. While it's true that many people abuse alcohol, there are also those who use it responsibly and in moderation.

I've witnessed all these health bad health impacts on my neighbour. His lever was damaged badly due to excessive alcohol use. We should avoid hard drugs if we want to live longer and have love for our life.
