La historia se desarrolla en la Academia Privada Hyakkaou, un instituto donde los estudiantes más ricos de Japón no se miden por su inteligencia o habilidades deportivas, sino por su destreza en las apuestas. Everything changes with the arrival of Yumeko Jabami, a transfer student who bets not for money or status, but for pure excitement and adrenaline. Her presence shakes the foundations of the academy, facing the most sadistic and twisted players of the student council.
As Yumeko progresses, the games become more extreme, and her true nature, that of a gambling addict, is revealed with each confrontation.
Lo que mas me gusto / What I liked the most
Yumeko Jabami no es la típica protagonista de anime. No juega para ganar dinero o reconocimiento, sino porque le encanta el riesgo y el peligro. Su transformación de una chica dulce y educada a una maniaca total con ojos brillando de emoción es uno de los aspectos más fascinantes del anime.
Cada episodio presenta un nuevo reto de apuestas, desde ruletas manipuladas hasta partidas de póker con reglas distorsionadas. La tensión es real y, aunque a veces los juegos pueden parecer absurdos, la forma en que se desarrollan los engaños y estrategias mantiene al espectador enganchado.
El estudio MAPPA hizo un trabajo excepcional en la animación. Uno de los elementos más icónicos de Kakegurui son las expresiones faciales exageradas que muestran los personajes cuando están desesperados, en éxtasis o al borde de la locura. Estas reacciones extremas refuerzan la intensidad de cada apuesta.
El Consejo Estudiantil de Hyakkaou es un grupo de personajes tan extravagantes como aterradores. Cada uno tiene un estilo de juego único y retorcido, y sus enfrentamientos con Yumeko no solo son emocionantes, sino que revelan las perversas dinámicas de poder en la academia.

Yumeko Jabami is not your typical anime protagonist. She doesn't gamble to win money or recognition, but because she loves risk and danger. Her transformation from a sweet, polite girl to a total maniac with eyes shining with excitement is one of the most fascinating aspects of the anime.
Each episode features a new gambling challenge, from rigged roulette wheels to poker games with twisted rules. The tension is real, and while the games can sometimes seem absurd, the way the deceptions and strategies unfold keeps the viewer hooked.
Studio MAPPA did an exceptional job on the animation. One of the most iconic elements of Kakegurui is the exaggerated facial expressions the characters show when they are desperate, ecstatic, or on the verge of madness. These extreme reactions reinforce the intensity of each bet.
The Hyakkaou Student Council is a group of characters as quirky as they are terrifying. Each has a unique and twisted playstyle, and their clashes with Yumeko are not only thrilling, but reveal the perverse power dynamics at the academy.
From the elegant outfits to the glamorous gambling sets, Kakegurui exudes an atmosphere of wealth and excess. Plus, its soundtrack has a seductive and mysterious air, with an extremely addictive opening that perfectly represents the essence of the anime.
Lo que no me gusto / What I dont like
Cada episodio sigue una estructura similar, apuesta, trampa, giro inesperado, locura total. Si bien las apuestas son variadas, la fórmula puede volverse predecible con el tiempo.
A pesar de que algunos personajes del consejo estudiantil son muy interesantes, la serie se enfoca demasiado en Yumeko, dejando poco espacio para el crecimiento de otros protagonistas como Ryota o Mary Saotome (aunque en la segunda temporada mejora un poco).
Each episode follows a similar structure, bet, trap, unexpected twist, total madness. While the stakes are varied, the formula can become predictable over time.
Even though some of the student council characters are very interesting, the series focuses too much on Yumeko, leaving little room for the growth of other protagonists like Ryota or Mary Saotome (although in the second season she improves a bit).
¿Recomiendo Kakegurui? / Do I recommend Kakegurui?
Si buscas un anime diferente, extravagante y lleno de intensidad, Kakegurui es una excelente opción. Su combinación de apuestas, locura y manipulación psicológica lo hace una experiencia única y entretenida.
No es un anime para todos: si esperas una historia con gran profundidad o realismo, Kakegurui puede no ser lo tuyo. Sin embargo, si disfrutas de personajes impredecibles, expresiones faciales exageradas y un ambiente de constante tensión, entonces te encantará.
If you're looking for a different, quirky, and intense anime, Kakegurui is an excellent choice. Its combination of stakes, madness, and psychological manipulation makes for a unique and entertaining experience.
It's not an anime for everyone: if you're expecting a story with great depth or realism, Kakegurui may not be your thing. However, if you enjoy unpredictable characters, exaggerated facial expressions, and an atmosphere of constant tension, then you'll love it.

A pesar de algunos problemas de repetitividad y falta de desarrollo en personajes secundarios, Kakegurui brilla por su protagonista carismática, su atmósfera intensa y su animación impactante. Un anime que te mantendrá entretenido y sorprendido con cada giro inesperado en las apuestas.

Hey ramón este anime me gusto demasiado tuve la oportunidad de verlo con mi cuñado y de verdad que lo disfrutamos mucho, el momento en el que hacen las apuestas y están al punto de perder, las facciones de los personajes son demasiada increíble.
