Exploring Mukteshwar: A Hidden Gem in the Kumaon Hill's ⛰️

Friends, some time ago I went to visit Mukteshwar with my friend and it was really a memorable trip. Mukteshwar is a village and tourist destination located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state of India. It is located at an altitude of 2171 meters (7500 feet) in the Kumaon hills, 51 km from Nainital, 72 km from Haldwani and about 40 km from Almora. My friend and I went on a bike and as soon as we reached here, it felt like we had reached heaven. This view was very beautiful. The beauty of the mountains, the cool breeze and the greenery spread all around mesmerized me. We did adventure activities on the rocks, enjoyed the thrill of zipline and experienced a unique peace amidst nature. Sometimes the shade of clouds, sometimes the sunlight... Mukteshwar made every moment special.

Friends, Mukteshwar is a peaceful and beautiful place in Uttarakhand.

Mukteshwar Temple:
This ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is a major attraction of Mukteshwar. This temple holds religious significance and it is believed that praying here leads to salvation. We did not have much time that day and could not go to the temple. Next time when I go, I will definitely share information about the temple and tell you my experience. Friends, we thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of zipline there – the experience of flying over the mountains was truly an unforgettable moment of life. Standing on the edge of the cliff and looking at the valleys below, it felt as if life had stopped. Sometimes clouds would gather in the sky, and sometimes everything would shine in the sun – as if nature was telling its story. The smile of the local people, their simplicity and the peace there… everything touched our hearts. This zip line was about 70 meters long, the ticket to go down once was Rs 250 per person.

The local people were also making videos of the people here with their drones, the price of 1 video was 200 rupees. Friends, the video was becoming so good from here, the view all around, the view of a ditch with big rocks below which looked like a very beautiful sight.

Chauli Ki Jali:
This is a rock located near the Mukteshwar temple and is believed to be the place where the battle between the goddess and the demon took place.

While coming, I saw monkeys on the way, so I gave them some fruits, but these monkeys are not afraid of people, they come mostly to bite female people. 😂
