Dress rehearsal 1

Hi all! Welcome back at my running blog towards the Spijkenisse Spark Marathon later this month! Now that the taper weeks are closing in I am using this peak week to set a ball park goal pace time.

Today was my first dress rehearsal. Which aimed to focus on maintaining a strong pace while fatigue.

In order to stimulate fatigue above my runningsload I cycle a bit (easy pace) as that is a little easier on the joints.

For today:

  • 19 km bike ride (easy pace)
  • warming up 5 km running (zone 2)
  • tempo block 8 km @ 4:15 / km
  • 5 km cooling down
  • 18 km bike ride (easy pace)

While most is package, the real training was the 8km at my dream time (would be sub 3 marathon if I can maintain).

Running the warming up, I felt oke-ish not that strong and a little worried about the stomage issues I had early morning. I decided to just give my best as today is one of the most important trainings in my entire block. During the temporun I felt strong, 1 km in I knew I would nail this training. The last few 100m I had energy left for a small end sprint.

This training gave a strong mental boost! If my second (and last) dress rehearsal this Sunday is as successful I will give sub 3h a try at Spijkenisse!

Yesterday, I received the new Shokz Open Run Pro Mini 2 , as my older edition broke down (no sound on one side) customerservice offered me a brand new model as replacement.

This was an amazing free upgrade as the music was even more clear compared to the older edition!

Happy running !

Wow, kudos to that company to offer a substitute for free, usually they waste a lot of time trying to repair or trying to blame you for the break, very nice

Yeah 100% there was no need to return the older version. They just needed a video to confirm one side was indeed malfunctioning.
Cost them a product, got them a loyal customer!

Way to go! Congratulations on a successful dress rehearsal! You really are making great progress! That was nice of the customer service to upgrade you to the new model, hopefully they last longer than the first pair. Music really does make a workout easier!
