Getting Scared Because I’m Beginning To Feel Independent.

I’ve always been a daddy’s girl and that’s because my father does everything I want for me and I’ve always depended so much on him. Even during my university days, I go home every weekend and he makes sure that he drives me back to school. He’s so caring and I love him because he does all I want for me. Till I got to twenty two years of my life, I’ve always depended on my parents especially my dad so I’m sure you all know how stressful it will be when I want to begin to depend on myself fully.

Well, I’ve been making money for a long time but all I’ve done was to go clubbing and spend lavishly since I was still very young and my father pays all my bills even though he knows fully well that I am earning some money. I wouldn’t like to use the word “unfortunately” so fortunately, I entered the realm of having to work hard for my money and depend fully on myself. At the same time, being independent does not mean you’re paying your bills alone but it means that you are not under anyone’s control and I’ve gotten to that stage now.

A time when I began to feel fully independent

Seeing myself as an independent lady started a year ago and I must confess that so many things changed about me and I’m really glad about that. After I registered for my NYSC program and got back from the camp, I was already earning some money from the federal government and I was getting my salary from my workplace too and I noticed that my dad stopped sending me money like he does. It would have been a different case if he called to tell me that he will stop sending me some money but he just did that without my consent and I started feeling independent meaning I had to foot every of my bills and I was able to minimize my spendings.

At the same time, I was sensible enough to make sure that I save some money so I could start a business.Well, something good happened after. He gave me a whopping amount of money to start my business. I was really glad but I felt that was a way he could say goodbye to me in the sense that he will no longer send me money again since I have an online and offline business so I should be able to manage them and depend fully on myself.Back then, my parents never wanted to see me talk to a man but now, I can’t count how many times they’ve been asking about my man so they could meet him and this is making me scared everyday that it is time for some new adventures in life. I’m still very young but I’m just lucky to be able to do things that adults do at a very young age and I must say that I am very grateful for that.

Right now, I’m all for myself and I’m responsible for whatever happens to me but I feel I’m still very young because I’m a daddy’s girl and I’m not used to taking care of myself. This is also making me feel like I’m going through what’s more than my age but I’m glad about everything and I hope I’m able to succeed in this new phase of life.
