Camiguin's White Island becomes one of the most beautiful spots in the Philippines, and the early rising, the ocean breeze, and the thought of being there renew the feeling of the day. It is a day I will not forget as it was one of those rare moments. After all the excitement and joy, our small group embarked on their early morning adventure to see what the natives call Camiguin's "Crown Jewel."

When we arrived at the beach area where the boats were anchored, I was certainly able to sense the thrill. The ocean sparkled like a mirror that was reflecting the glory of the island on the other side, there was no cloud in the sky and the surf was soft. With big smiles on our faces, we donned the orange life vests and got into a little boat. The trip to White Island was very short but it was very exciting. It was like an aquarium on the move because we could see fishes and corals swimming through the water that was so clear and pure blue!

When we finally got to the island, I was shocked by the sand's beauty and whiteness. It was so soft that we felt like walking on a powder. The whole island is a sandbar without any buildings or trees; it is just surrounded by the blue sea and the beautiful Mount Hibok-Hibok, which is quite far away. Naturally, we took a lot of pictures! That island was like a postcard in every corner and all of us wanted to take pictures.

The situation was such that some people opted to sit down and enjoy the pleasant waves’ sound while others went to the water right away. The sun was shining on everything and the lake was shining very bright. We joked, clicked pictures and even tried to get those lovely background images when the sky and sea were in perfect harmony. It was nothing but bliss and tranquility after all the busy days at work and school.

I cherish the moment when we just stayed there and looked at the horizon in awe, realizing our smallness next to the beauty of the earth. The day couldn't be better with the sunshine, the smell of sea, and friends' fun. Water was the only noise and the joy of being there was our feeling - no concerns, no internet.

After a few hours, we returned on the boat, and feeling sorry to leave, I nevertheless felt grateful. Such travels are reminders that when we slow down the pace of life and notice nature around us, we can enjoy its beauty. White Island's beauty, though simple in appearance, will never be out of your heart.

Camiguin not only its stunning nature that will possess a special spot in my heart, but also with the experiences that we made there. It is a reminder that good friends, sunshine, and water are all you need sometimes for the best moments in life. This day will still put a smile on my face when I remember the laughing, the pristine waves, and the calmness that only the beach can give.
