"Back to DIY: A Cozy Room Decor Project with a Vintage Twist"

avatar

Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing great and enjoying mental health. I am back in this community after so long.I hadn’t done anything DIY in ages, but that changed when I stopped by a friend’s place the other day. She was in the middle of decorating her room, and we got talking about different ideas. I randomly suggested picking up an old book—something with those nice, coffee-colored pages—and tearing out a few to use as a sort of vision board. Nothing too neat, just layering them in a frame for that cozy, vintage feel. It was such a simple idea, but it sparked something in me. I forgot how much I enjoyed being creative like that, and it made me want to get back into DIY again.

Material required

  1. Spare frame
  2. Scissors
  3. Old school book
  4. Card board
  5. Glue stick
  6. Hooks
  7. Sticky notes

The process

So me and my friend to eat out. After we finished she told me that she is decorating her room so let's good to stationery and buy somethings. So we went there and bought a book with old page aesthetics and glue stick and sticky notes. And as soon as we arrived home we started making the vision board. She had a frame that was beautiful but the picture she added was not looking aesthetic. So I told her the idea that we should tear the book pages randomly and then add them in the frame. It will look really beautiful and aesthetic. We did that and it was looking beautiful.

Then she highlighted some words with green highlighter and we added a comment that says "I've got my eyes on you".
Then we put this frame on the wall. After that we moved to the vision board. It was broad so we had to add alot of pages. Tearing book pages was very satisfying for me but surely a nightmare for book lovers.

We were enjoying alot because we were adding random things and they were looking pretty. And also we were together that makes it alot more better. After completing the vision board it was already very late. So we skipped how what we are going to do with the vision board. We searched the pinterest for a while but could not find anything convincing. So we slept and the next day my friends sister came to her room and she praised us alot saying the frame and board are looking pretty. And also she gave us the idea that my friend should ask every guest or friend that come over to her house to add comments on the vision board using the sticky noted that we bought. We thought it was great idea and we went with that.
She also had comments from the book "friend ".we were planning to add them also but at the end we didn't.

We added a comment that says "2025".
