Companies behind the AI revolution.
Companies behind the AI revolution.
There is no doubt that the current era is now completely dominated by the use of AI. Not only are the companies setting up the labs and divisions to fuel their AI research but on other hand, many companies are providing apps and tool for the daily use either for free or in subscription model. AI is now become so dominant that it is expected that work should be going to be performed in the future using Agentic AI or deploying the AI agents. AI become so dominant in IT industry that people are getting laid off for not knowing AI. Whether your direct responsibilities and work required AI or not, but it expected that you understand and know AI.
With AI in boom, it is good to know about the companies that really fueled this growth. Let's explore them and understand their role in the AI revolution.
1. NVIDIA : Designer.
I guess, you had already heard about the NVIDIA as it is recently in news as one of the most valuable companies. Its share price has rocketed, but real question is what NVIDIA role in the AI revolution?
NVIDIA provides the GPU for training large AI models like GPT, Gemini, Llama, Claude. They also provide the CUDA Software Ecosystem that allows developers to optimize AI workloads. Training AI on large models is not only expensive and time-consuming but requires the massive computing power. NVIDIA GPU provides the efficient GPU that help the other research companies to perform or deploy AI agents effectively.
2. TSMC: Chip manufacturer.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company i.e TSMC in short is world leading chip manufacturer company located in Taiwan.
I guess most of the people are already know about it as it is chip manufacturer for the Apple company to. They are doing same for NVIDIA too where they manufacture the chips for NVIDIA which are used in NVIDIA GPU's.
TSMC is the industry leader in chip manufacturing and has both the industrial experience and technical superiority to create the chips with precision and scale.
If TSMC does not provide/manufacture the chips, and how the NVIDIA GPU can come into existence to fuel AI research.
ASML: Tool Creator.
It is the least heard company, and earlier it was named as Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography, from where it got it's current name ASML.
ASML is the company that manufacture the lithography machines. Lithography machines are essential for manufacturing cutting-edge chips. Interstingly, ASML is the only company in the world that has the capability and selling Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography machines. If they had not invented these machines, then the manufacturing of sophisticated chips would not be possible.
You can understand how complicated these machines are by their price, as they cost around $300 million USD, and there is no one in the world other than them who manufactures these machines.
Role of the Trio in AI ecosystem
Trio of these companies has made AI possible to the scale that we witness today. If I explain this in very layman's language, ASML is the precision tool manufacturer. TSMC is a skilled worker who requires the best tools ( provided by ASML) to manufacture the chips in accordance with NVIDIA specifications.
NVIDIA uses the chips to build the GPUs, which in turn have made the AI revolution possible.

Absolutely feeling this shift! We're moving from 'AI as a tool' to 'AI as a colleague.' The companies that are leading the charge aren't just creating products; they're fundamentally reshaping workflows and business models. It's an intimidating but incredibly exciting time. The key for professionals now is to be agile and curious, constantly learning to stay relevant
Maybe in next 2-3 years, people will be having AI assistants in same way as in today we have mobiles.
NVIDIA plays a big factor in this AI advancements
Yeah, NVIDIA really reaped big.
Taiwan has been known as the best place that manufactures microchips
TSMC really showd th dedication to reach the place they are in.
AI is going to be a part of the future, and it's amazing to see how much the GPU/chips are central to this. However, I just wonder if the world is ready for it. I think the datacenters that house the AI will need quite a bit of power, and I don't think we can generate enough electricity. At the same time, I think the circular promise of funding/buildings/projects worries me.
A.I is cool. We just to use all our knowledge and be bosses soon bro.
