Three Tune Tuesday #215 .:. more klezmer music
I continue to share my fave Balkanbeat tunes. Just two artists for this week #ttt blog: Shantel and Boom Pam. Hope you enjoy the tunes and maybe discover for yourself cool new artists.
Shantel - Bucovina
The 'Kosher Nostra' remixed version may be found on 2017 'best of' compilation which was created by Shantel in collaboration with Jewish Monkeys & Boom Pam. I just stumbled upon this track few days ago on occasion, and simply cannot stop listening to it. Not necessarily it might be a big hit, just... it is a very pleasurable tune, full of energy, artistism and southern motives. (Have no idea who these 'Jewish Monkeys' are...)
Bum Pam - Hamdulila
But I do know who the BOOM PAM are. They are hot Jewish guys from Tel-Aviv. I became their obsessed fan decade ago momentarily -- when I listened to their debut LP for the 1st time. The guys impressed me with their hot brass section, passion and energy of performance. Sad thing -- they released only two recordings... both are a usual highlight of my iphone playlist. The track I selected might not be their N1 hit, but it is very good - it is a real little symphony, short but very saturated musical journey. Listen to it both with your ears and your legs!
Shantel - Rio
The last track for this week #ttt is, again, Shantel. Taken from his recent release I found at musical streaming; said LP is called 'Viva Diaspora' and it contains fine stuff - maybe its is not the 1st grade recognizable sticky pop melodies, but well produced and rich with sound and textures. I like it so far. This tune has some timeless 'retro' motives and work as a nice calming closer. If this sort of music is up to your likes, I recommend listening to the whole album.
I hope you enjoyed today's music selection, and travelling around the globe without leaving the Hive. 😎 The post goes for Three Tune Tuesday challenge run by @ablaze. Of course I’m not familiar with this language and don’t understand a word of it, but it sounds cheerful, so let’s "splash out" a bit of…
😃
PIZZA!
I agree the other two you shared are great examples of interesting sounds and textures. I liked Rio more, and I tried to find the lyrics, but I had no luck.
I am in the same boat with you! Can understand only English and nothing more than few other words in other languages, here and there. Jewish and Gypsy are non Roman ones, so its absolutely no-go! But sometimes it is even a good thing - better do not know what the texts are! Once I've translated some Led Zeppelin lyrics and.... was very, very very very very very disappointed at all those 'lala's and 'blah blah's :)))))
And here is a slice of our beloved Hive !PIZZA. Have a great day, my friend! and hope your deal with consulate will have a happy end soon.
