My stamps collection: august acquisitions. Austria!
Today I will continue from the place where I left off last time. In August, postal mailings from stamp dealers came to me so often that I did not even have time to unpack and photograph all my new acquisitions, not speaking of sorting them and filling in the album; today I present show the contents of a single purchase, which combined various Austrian stamps (different years) I got from the same dealer.

Сегодня я покажу вам содержимое одного из конвертов, который содержит марки Австрии (разных лет).
'Tag Der Briefmarke' in English means simply 'Stamp Day'. The Austrian Austrian Post has a long tradition of issuing a new post-themed stamp every year on Post Day. Of course, not all of them are equally beautiful, but some are simply very, very good - and certainly worth the attention of collectors.
Австрийская почта имеет давнюю традицию - каждый год на день Почты выпускается новая марка на тему почты. Разумеется, не все из них одинаково красивы, но некоторые просто очень, очень хороши - и безусловно заслуживают внимания коллекционеров.
This one is from year 1972, and I have been looking at it for a long time and trying to buy it. A beautiful piece of art, isnt it?My path to it was long and not entirely smooth, and that is why I especially want it. The stamp itself is not very expensive and rare, and costs literally 10-20 cents... I immediately paid for it and bought it as soon as I learned of its existence - BUT soon after the purchase, it turned out that the dealer could not find it in his album... and my order was canceled. Only after several months of searching, I was able to find another seller willing to sell it. The wait for the stamp was extended - and this adds to its value in my eyes.
Эта марка была выпущена в 1972 году, и я давно на нее смотрел и пытался купить. Путь к ней был долог и не совсем гладкий, и поэтому она мне особенно желанна. Сама по себе марка не очень дорогая и редкая, и стоит буквально 10-20 центов... я сразу же оплатил ее и купил, как только узнал о ее существовании - НО вскоре после покупки оказалось, что дилер не может найти ее у себя в альбоме... и мой заказ был аннулирован. Только спустя несколько месяцев поисков, я смог найти другого продавца, желающего продать ее. Ожидание марки растянулось - и это добавляет ей ценности в моих глазах.
Two stamps from 1933; they were issued especially for International Philatelic exhibition that took place in Wienna back in 1933. I enjoyed very much it design, especially the font.
A stamp with ballerina - simply nice!
Full series with Austrian Empress Maria-Theresia - uncancelled stamps in this case was much preferrable for me, so that I can watch the work of art in full beauty. This one isnt too expensive.
Now this may look a strange transition but here we go: this is how looked like Austrian stamps back in 1945...
I wanted to add this piece of history to my album too - not for its design qualities.
A very attractive series of stamps from 1916, in low denominations of 2 and 5 hellers. The stamps depict Mercury; the zigzag on the edges of the stamp means that it is "urgent" or special - i.e. accelerated delivery. These stamps predate the advent of airmail (the first airmail stamps appeared in 1918).
Очень притягательная визуально серия марок 1916 года, в низких номиналах 2 и 5 геллеров. На марках изображен Меркурий; зигзаг на краях марки означает что это "спешная", или специальная - т.е. ускоренная доставка. Эти марки предшествовали появлению авиапочты (появление первых авиамарок относится к 1918 году).
I obtained them like 3 times from various stamp dealers, getting cancelled stamps, clear stams, stamps with later overprints...
But I have been putting off buying the triangular modification of this issue. It is not rare, quite cheap... but most of the lots I have seen offered cancelled stamps. And it was only this dealer that suggested a unique offer - a block of uncanceled stamps in 4 pieces. Such a block was already significantly more expensive. Refreshingly more expensive, if compared with a single cancelled stamp. I was considering it for more than half a year, and finally pressed the 'BUY' button. :) What do you think, looking at the stamps - was it worth it?..
Но до сих пор я отодвигал приобретение треугольной модификации этого марочного выпуска. Он не редкий, очень дешевый... но большинство лотов которые я видел, предлагают гашеные марки. А у этого продавца я обнаружил уникальное предложение - блок негашеных марок из 4-х штук. Такой блок стоил уже существенно дороже. Освежающе дороже, если сравнивать с отдельной гашеной маркой. Я думал больше полугода, и в результате принял решение и нажал кнопку "купить". :) Как вы думаете глядя на марки - стоило оно того?..
Triangular stamps are not the most common standard, but still there are many of this kind out there - they immediately make s stand out in a row, and decorate / diversify one's album pages in a nice way. I am not very willing to add such stamps to my collection, but in some cases I simply cannot resist. For example, I really liked these two triangular stamps of Fiume. And I dream of buying some airmail stamps of Latvia and Tuva. Sadly they are very expensive for me.
Треугольные марки не самый распространенный стандарт, но тем не менее их много - и они сразу выделяют марку в ряду, и украшают / разнообразят страницы альбома. Я не очень охотно покупаю такие марки, но от некоторых просто не могу отказаться. Например, мне очень нравятся эти две марки свободного города Fiume. И я мечтаю приобрести некоторые марки авиапочты Латвии и Тувы.
And the last one(s).
These seven stamps (uncanceled) were the most expensive piece I bought from the dealer (they costed me $20.) In fact, they were the initial reason I made a deal, the rest of the stamps you see above I added to the deal as an extra purchase. The stamps belong to the famous 1910 commemorative series, celebrating the 80th birthday of Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary. The stamps were beautifully designed by Koloman Moser (if that name means anything to you), and that alone is a good reason to add them to your collection. An exceptional piece of art!
I still have to collect the rest of this set, which seems an almost impossible task... so we'll round up the talk here - but I'll definitely tell this story in full one day, even if I don't get all the stamps and can't take my own photos.
Эти семь марок (негашеные) была самой дорогой частью, что я купил у этого дилера. (Они стоили мне 20 долларов). На самом деле именно из-за этих марок я сделал покупку, а остальные добрал у продавца дополнительно. Марки принадлежат знаменитой юбилейной серии 1910 года, посвященной 80-летию Франца-Иосифа, императора Австрии и короля Венгрии. Марки имеют замечательный дизайн - их рисовал Коломан Мозер (если вам что-то говорит это имя), и это сама по себе уже отдельная весомая причина добавить их в коллекцию.
Мне ещё предстоит собрать этот сет, что представляется задачей почти невозможной ... поэтому пока отложим разговор на потом,- но подробный рассказ в любом случае я сделаю однажды, даже если не приобрету всех марок и не смогу сделать собственные фото.

Нет конечно. какое там отпустило. это ж временно. как горизонт. дошел до этой вершины - сразу за ней открываются следующие. и так до бесконечности :)))
Эх.... если бы оно было до Бесконечности...
А то ж можно и не подняться на вершину или вдруг с вершины дальше увидишь пропасть.

Good things come to those who wait haha and if it took months for you to get that stamp, it must be for a reason. Everything happens for a reason, and I'm glad you got it, so your collection will grow bigger and more varied 😊
Absolutely new acquisitions for your collection! The ballerina is my favorite by far, such a pretty design. The art work on the Maria-Theresia stamps is great as well, I see why you got all of them in uncancelled condition. I like the triangle stamps too, but they are odd to fit into a collection album, when I collected stamps I never had too many of those.
The Hitler stamps are interesting for historical value I agree, but an individual that wasn't the best human being who ever lived. Along with Stalin and Mao, the trio killed an more people than all the tyrants in history who proceeded them. That's why those pieces of history are important to keep around as reminders of the horrors of war.
The Franz Joseph set is nice too. How many stamps came in the collection in total for you to collect? They must be much more uncommon to carry that price tag!

The full set is 17 stamps.
So far, I've got seven.
Altho I have 16 (all except the finisher of the series 10-krone stamp) in other, non-anniversary design.

So you enjoyed it too? Thats a lovely piece of art I was attracted to it like a moth. Austria... has a great school of art. I am sure living around all those palaces, historic buildings, art galleries, museums and other stuff (a lot of it was created and did not destroyed during the boisterious XX century) - puts your mark at folks eyes.... leaving them less options to create tasteless ugly pieces.. Thats the conception I developed living in another beautiful historic city (I mean the city of St.Petersburg here ))))
