Sand castles and no Champagne
A few days ago I noticed we have this new Hive community established - Summer Vibes. And know what? I have fresh photos I took few days ago not being in the know yet about it, but they were taken - I am sure of that - intentionally to go here! 🐈🐈🐈🎈😜
So, this is one of the highlights from my leizure photo-walk that happened last Sunday. I headed to the Hare Island location, with its Peter and Paul Fortress and all the beautiful historical neighborhood - it is the place where St.Petersburg citizens naturally prefer to spend time during the hottest days... -- and it was exactly this kind of day! I borrowed 70-200mm telephoto lens with me, with a pure intention for #streetphotos from the beach, but took more photos along all the way to said beach. This girl I stumbled didnt notice me, but flashed away very quickly, literally for 5-6 seconds or less, turned her back to me and disappeared.
I managed to notice her wonderful facial expression, how she was looking at her half-eaten waffle cone with ice cream... and momentarily pushed the shutter. Once. No double takes. It was a blind shot, and I was sure that I would not get anything except the typical blurry face... but no! Shutter speed of 1/250 and also golden luck gave me this shot. Perhaps this is the best photo of the day, that day I got other great photos, but I will not touch on this part of my walk for now, it had a sad aftertaste and a little frustration. I had to delete some of the photos taken at the request of a dissatisfied parent, as you probably already guessed :)

Creating sand castles is a neat job - requires some non-stop activity. A true labour of love!

Сегодня я, уже в предвкушении скорого уикенда, покажу вам один из лучших кадров с моей фотопрогулки на прошлых выходных. Я потоптал Заячий остров и Петропавловскую крепость вместе с маленьким кусочком прилегающего к ней пляжа — то место, где питерские горожане предпочитают проводить время в самые жаркие дни... а это был как раз такой день!
Я захватил с собой телеобъектив 70-200 мм, исключительно в расчете что сделаю какое-нибудь стритфото с пляжа, но и по дороге туда-обратно разумеется продолжал снимать и всякое, и разное. Встретившаяся мне по дороге девчушка не заметила меня, но мелькнула очень быстро, буквально на 5-6 секунд, повернулась спиной и исчезла. Я успел заметить с какой любовью она разглядывает свою начатую вафельную трубочку с мороженым... и нажал на спуск камеры ровно один раз. Никаких дублей, об этом не шло и речи. Просто слепой выстрел... и я был уверен что не получил ничего кроме обычного в таких случаях смаза.
Но мне посчастливилось! Бывшая на тот момент выдержка 1/250, а также золотая удача дали мне этот кадр. Возможно, это лучшее фото дня, в тот день у меня были получены и другие отличные фото, но я пока не буду касаться этой части моей прогулки, она имела печальное послевкусие и небольшую фрустрацию. Мне пришлось удалить часть сделанных фото по требованию недовольного родителя, как вы наверное уже догадались :)

Ow, the activity on the beach looks like a sand castle building competition 🤩
I had a late-night flight yesterday evening, but now I am half rested and alive hahaha, I am sure I will go to the river these days, yhere are also sand beaches but not sure I can find so many children with these summer vibes of making sand castles!! Thanks for your post, @qwerrie 🍦🌞
