Diamonds are girls best friends, right? (Spring macros)

Everybody knows - diamonds are girls best friends...

...well, not until they are fake ones, like these (Mother Nature shaped them from ice and snow, and they slightly ephemera). The last snow slowly melting on the dead oak leaves.

This became one of (many) highlights of today's walk across Elagin park (I will make a separate post or two about it later, when I breath out). We chased a squirrel with some nuts treatment 😃 and said squirrel lured us into her secret spot, where some mushrooms were growing, and there was fallen bark of an old tree lying on the ground. Unfortunately, it had already experienced various weather changes and was therefore very dirty... if I had picked it off the tree myself, the inner surface would have looked better in the photo, of course. But nevertheless; look at these magnificent drawings made by wood-boring beetle larvae. I really like looking at them and photographing them, I can never calmly pass by if I see this (rather rare) picture. By the way: if you look closely, at the end of some of the "channels" you can see the corpses of these larvae. Curious.

Certain trees decorated themselves with 'ear-rings'. This macro turned out not so well as I hoped, but the weather was pretty windy and cold, it was absolutely out of options to create dozen captures for further macro-focus staking... so I walked away with just this single take.

And the snowdrops.

Three days ago was the 1st time I noticed them, probably a bit too late, guess they pop up earlier. Anyway I did not miss too much, here they are! Today I shoot them in a proper morning light. They are awesome, a quint-essence of spring!

man, that earring that nature made is so beautiful if only we can just pick them and then present them to our love one, maybe we don't need to buy some expensive jewelry. !LOLZ !PIZZA !hiqvotes

Doubt an everything-sharp shot would beat this beautiful blurry one ❤️

Congrats on the first signs of spring!!

Those are some great shots, you can see spring sneaking it's way in! Too bad they weren't real diamonds! I did find one once at a diamond state park in Arkansas, it's an old volcano that deposited diamonds over a large area. For a fee you can enter and hunt for diamonds! It's pretty cool.

Great job, enjoy spring!

Wow! might be a super cool experience, to find a diamond myself, even if it is small, dull and unsightly! Once I was introduced to natural rubies (at Ladoga skerries), they were extremely small and un-worthy to pick up, hehe xD

I never said it was a nice diamond! It was a little yellow and not high quality, but I found one! There are some to be found in some California rivers, gold miners have found them while panning for gold. I've never found one while gold prospecting though. Probably because I mainly use a metal detector and try not to pan for gold if I don't have to, it's a lot of work! lol
