FIRST DAY AS A UNIVERSITY STUDENT.

My admission actually came late,so we had to start all necessary preparation immediately after being admitted in the Federal university of lafia, nasarawa state, Nigeria.I was offered to study B.sc in microbiology SLT.Accomodation was settled cause I will be staying with my aunt who was a final year student in my school,so I was I set to resume.

On the 15th of February,2024.Early in the morning,I was preparing for lafia,I was really sad and afraid to start a new phase in my life at same time excited to unravel how life would be away from home.My mother helped arrange my things and I could vividly remember that my father left for work,shortly after his leaving my ride arrived,I looked at my mother with tears and my siblings with sadness, gave her a hug and waved goodbye.

I never wanted leaving home but at same time needed to resume school as a university student.My first day in school was indeed unforgettable.It was an hour journey to my university,when I arrived ,I did not rest,I dropped my things and then went to school to start my registration.

I reached by eleven in the morning and went to the temporary site,I saw my secondary school classmates and was happy even though the were ahead of me in the registration processes,the directed me on where to go first for my registration and the continued with theirs.I paid for my religious and state dues and Collected my receipts,I now went ahead to pay for my code of conduct, student were so many and I had to join the queue,it was so noisy and crowded,I saw different faces.

I stayed for hours and then it finally came to my turn,I paid and collected mine.I filled it and I took it to permanent site for stamping,It was the same experience and I would say even worse cause so many student were still present waiting for theirs to be stamped and more student were coming,some student fainted cause of the stress involved.I ate just a bit before leaving home and I was so hungry but leaving the line wasn't a good idea so I had to stay.

After a long while,mine was stamped and I went to photocopy it.It was already four in the evening and the closed for the day,I went back home all tired and exhausted,first day and I knew exactly what I was into,reaching home,I bathed and ate.
It was indeed a unforgettable event not because I was exhausted but with all the tiredness,it was the first step I took in the university as a university student,I knew that I will have to put all the hard work, determination and above all prayers to be able to achieve my goal.
