I Stole A Home Saving Hack From My Aunty #179 #LOH
At the age of 3, I left my parents house to stay with my aunt who was living in the city, staying with her was not really fun because she was one strict person I ever met. It was difficult to predict her kind of being. Though she was nice and I can't deny that. Through out this week, I have been thinking of her and it got me wondering because It's been awhile since I thought of her so deeply like I did this week, I began to wonder what exactly was behind it, could it be that I missed her? Nah I don't think so. I definitely know that it is this week prompt that got me thinking of her. Let's take a quick read at what the prompt says;
Tell us about one thing you learned from your mother or sister or a female neighbour that she didn't teach you directly.
Immediately I saw this prompt, it was my aunt that came through my mind, I grew up with her and I have learnt a lot of things while I was with her, some she taught me while others I learned them secretly. I am very sure that if she happens to visit my house now, she will be like "what the heck, girl you stole from me"😂
Yes, I did and I am proud to have stolen from you. Lol!
Anyways, one of the things I learnt secretly from her was that she was always buying either a full basket of tomato or half, she will also get pepper and onions depending on the quantity she wants, she will grind it, fry it and store it inside the fridge. This made things easier whenever she wanted to do stew, either rice stew or soup, she doesn't have to go and start looking for fresh tomatoes to start from scratch because she already has it in stock.
I loved this hack because it saved her from looking for where to get tomatoes at night or whatever she wanted to cook. One thing she always told me then was "if the grinded tomato is about to finish, let me know before it does" As a kid, then I never knew why she wanted to know when it will finish until now, I think adulthood made me to understand it better especially now that I have started implementing it myself
I don't know if I should say I copied this from her or I learned it but whichever way, I know I knew it without her showing me or telling me directly that it's the right thing to do in your home.
This question took me back to appreciating the woman I grew up with for walking me through so many things in life and I can't help but say Thankyou @meri.ahama for bringing up this question.
That's going to be all for today
Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoyed reading through

I think it’s really a good hack so I might just also steal this from you.
It’s actually very frustrating when you always have to go around looking for tomatoes to buy when you are about to cook.

Making food in advance and storing in the fridge is the best thing to do, I am a living testimony. It saves me time and everything. I always try to keep track of those things before they finish so I can replace them and not be left hanging. You stole a good trait from your aunt

Lol! Y'all? Feel free
Ok dear.
That's a good one. That kind of principle will continue to prevent you from finding yourself in an emergency need of such commodity. I do same with general foodstuffs.
#dreemerforlife
Yeah, it's important, at least things doesn't take you unaware before you start thinking of getting new ones
Wow, this is a very good hack you learnt from your aunt. I do buy tomatoes in bulk and store them too but in bottles, not refrigerator.
Good one.
#dreemerforlife
I think I have just learnt another hack after sharing my hack 😂 storing bottles? I love the idea
Yeah, it's for those who don't have refrigerator to store them.
That's a very good hack. It's very pocket friendly and also helps make cooking very convenient.
