CineTv Contest: GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE
THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE
George a man raised by mischievous apes in the heart of the African jungle he had spent his entire life swinging through trees chatting with animals and living a carefree awkward existence the film opens with a charmingly absurd premise George is an enthusiastic carefree and somewhat clumsy jungle man who lives life with reckless abandon His home was a giant treehouse where he swings from vine to vine to vine often crashing into tress and communicating with a variety of jungle creatures everything fro elephants to braids to his best friend an adorable and sassy elephant he called Ape
Despite his rough around the edges exterior George was pure hearted and innocent completely unaware of the complexities of human society he was a hero in his own right very funny and easy going his life was just a series of hilarious misadventures like saving helpless animals misjudging the dangers of the jungle and occasionally getting tangled in vibes or falling flat on his face
And then one day Ursula Stanhope an adventurous young woman from San Francisco visited the jungle with her fiance the arrogant and pompous Lyle Van de Groot Ursula was a heir to a fortune and her journey into the jungle was meant to be a romantic and exotic escape however their expedition takes a disastrous turn when Lyle's incompetence lead to a series of unfortunate events that left Ursula stranded
This was where George and Ursula met George swinging from vine to the rescue in a chaotic but charming sequence of events saves Ursula from falling off a cliff narrowly dodging obstacles and leaving a trail of jungle wreckage in his wake Ursula initial was shocked by the wildness of her savior and his chaotic antics soon she realized that there's more to George that she had seen his sweet childlike nature amd his kindness win her over even as she remains slightly baffled by his jungle ways
Well Ursula's connection with George became complicated things when Lyle in a fit of jealousy became determined to win her back no matter the cost Lyle hires a group of mercenaries and embarked on a devious plan to get rid of George once and for all and I must say Lyle's strategy were as ridiculous as he is from trying to lure George into some dangerous situations to creating elaborate traps that always turns back against him
As George and Ursula spend more time together their relationship deepens they explore the jungle shared laughs and even faced some serious challenges including terrifying encounter with a wild leopard and a nearly fatal elephant stampede through it all Ursula finds herself drawn to George's simplicity bravery and authenticity qualities she can't find in Lyle's polished but shallow personality
But George's world begins to change when Ursula confessed her growing feelings for him when the two shared a tender moment beneath the stars however George was torn between his love for Ursula and his loyalty to his jungle home is he meant to stay in the wild with his animal family or ready to leave the only life he's known for a chance to live in the human world
Meanwhile Lyle's plot escalated leading to a showdown in the jungle that endangers not just George and Ursula but also the very Creature that George has spent all his life protecting He had to use all his jungle instinct along with a little help from his animal friends to defeat Lyle and save Ursula from his clutches
It was a moment of whirlwind of chaos swinging vines stampeding animals a d booby traps each one more ridiculous and thrilling than the last
At the end George realized that true love isn't about fitting into a world you're not meant for but embracing who you really are George and Ursula now fully in love decided to find a way to bridge the gap between their two worlds while Lyle finally getting his just desserts was left to reflect on the true meaning of love and a little more of self awareness
MY REVIEW ABOUT THE MOVIE
I remember first watching it with my friends then on a Saturday afternoon when the world outside didn't matter a very peaceful time before the responsibilities of adulthood sets in watching this movie again felt like a perfect escape route You don't have to think too much you just have to enjoy the good humor the bright jungle visuals and that slapstick humor oh the number of times I laughed at George's ridiculous funny antics and his endearing clumsiness
What made this movie stand out wasn't just about the hilarious George but the way the captured that carefree innocent adventure George earnestness were contagious and as a kid then it felt like I was right there in the jungle with him swinging from vines and dodging angry elephants the wildness of it all was fun it made me dream about a world where life was a series of crazy laugh out loud adventures
Watching this movie again I realized the only thing I missed was the memories tied to watching it back then the joy of the people around my siblings cousins and my neighborhood friends the laughter we shared the part were we have to rewind to hear the jokes again the dance with the monkeys those shared experience of enjoying such a silly movie created bonds that made it special
But what made it more special now is looking back and realizing that movies like this helped shaped a sense of adventure and humor that has stuck with me through the years even as I grow older still has the power to make me smile and reminisce about a time when life was simpler and everything was an adventure
And with my joy I give it my five stars
