Noble Words : The Pain of Managing Money !

Money has always been a talking point among every individuals. It is assumed that money helps in getting rid of all the problem. But in reality money in itself is a big problem. Yesterday, I attended a spiritual assembly in my colony. It highlighted a strange topic that many of us have not yet realized. We all love accumulating money. The more it gets the better it is. But money does not comes with ease to anyone. An individual needs to work hard to make money. Those who are always money minded, Sanskrit have following to say ;

अर्थानामर्जने दुःखं अर्जितानां च रक्षणे |

नाशे दुःखं व्यये दुःखं धिगर्थाः कष्टसंश्रयाः ||

Arthaanaamarjane duhkhm arijtaanaam cha rakshane.
Naashe duhkhm vyaye duhkhm dhigarthaah kashtasamshrayaah.

Arthanaamarjane = Arthaanaam + arjane.
Arthannam = wealth, money.
Arjane = acquiring.
Duhkhm = suffering, difficulty.
Arjitaanaam = when already acquired. cha = and.
Rakshane = in protection and preservation.
Naashe = destruction, loss.
Vyaye = spending.
Dhigarthaah = dhik + arthah.
Dhik = shame.
Arthaah = wealth.
Kashta = trouble,
Smshrayaah = acquiring.

i.e. One has to suffer pain in earning wealth and there is pain in protecting the acquired wealth. There is pain when it is destroyed and there is pain when it is spent. Shame on such a painful tendency of accumulating wealth.

A lack of work ethic, faith, or financial discipline, coupled with excessive risk-taking, greed, or the constant need to impress others, can lead to financial ruin. As mentioned in above proverb, money does not comes with ease to anyone. Acquiring money needs specialised skills and mindset. Likewise, once we have the money, many people unaware of its proper usage, resulting in waste of money. In addition any losses may further increases our pain.

Managing money is very painful. This is the reason that money never keeps anyone happy. There is always a pain attached to it, still people keeps on accumulating more and more.
