Noble Words : Life is full of choices!
There were times, when I like to watch cartoon movies, but then the preference shifted to documentary and further to romantic. I noticed that with my ages my preferences and liking also changes. As individuals age, both their choices and perspectives tend to evolve, driven by factors like accumulated experience, changing priorities, and alterations in cognitive abilities. Younger individuals often make decisions based on immediate desires or external pressures, while older individuals may prioritize long-term goals and emotional well-being. Additionally, older adults may develop a greater appreciation for experiences and relationships, while younger adults may focus more on material possessions or external validation. To explain this natural phenomenon, Sanskrit have put up this words :
कन्या वरयते रूपं माता वित्तं पिता श्रुतम् |
बान्धवा: कुलमिच्छब्ति मिष्ठान्ने इतेरे जनाः ||
Kanyaa varayate roopam maata vittam pitaa shrutam
Bandhawah kulmichhanti mishthanne itero janaah.
Kanyaa = a young girl.
Varayate = selects, chooses, prefers.
Roopam = Beautiful appearance
Vittam = money, wealth.
Pitaa = father.
Shrutam = Vedas. (here it means well educated)
Baandhawah = relatives.
Kula = a clan or a family in society.
Mishthanna = sweets.
Icchanti = wishes, desires.
Itarey = other.
Janaah = persons.
i.e. The choice of a daughter about her prospective groom is that he should be handsome, whereas the preference of her mother is that he should be wealthy, and her father's preference is that he should be well educated. The choice of her other relatives is high social status of the groom's family, whereas other acquaintances are concerned only with getting a lavish feast at the time of marriage.
The underlying idea is that there is a wide variance in the choice of different persons for a thing, depending upon their age, outlook, attitude, social status, worldly experience etc. As changes are inivitible part of life, adapting to such changes and preference are quite normal.
