Noble Words : Learn & Grow !

The more we learn the more we grow. Learning always enhances our skills ND expertise. Surrounding ourself with people who possess expertise in different areas allows for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, contributing to personal and professional development. A knowledgeable individuals often engage in stimulating conversations and discussions, prompting deeper thinking and exploration of different viewpoints. This is why a learned individual always look out for a knowledgeable person to gain more knowledge. This is what taught in following Sanskrit lines ;

अपि संपूर्णतायुक्तैः कर्तव्या सुहृदो बुधैः|

नदीशः परिपूर्णोऽपि चन्द्रोदयमपेक्षते ||

Api sampoornataayukteh kartavyaa suhrudo budhaih. Nadeeshah paripoornopi chandrodayamapekshate.

Api = even.
sampoornataa = perfection, complete in all respects.
Yuktaih = endowed with.
Kartavyaa = duty
Suhrudo = friend.
Budhaih = learned persons.
Nadeeesh = the Ocean.
Paripoornopi = paripoorn + api.
Paripoorna = completely filled with.
Chandrodayamapekshate = chandrodayam + apekshete.
Chandrodayam = rising of the Moon in the sky.
Apekshate = expects, needs.

i.e. Learned person endowed with perfection in all respects, still consider it their duty to befriend other good persons. Look ! how the Ocean needs the Moon to rise in the sky for further increasing its level.

In the above Sanskrit lines the author has skillfully used the simile of the phenomenon of creation of tides in the Ocean due to the gravitational pull of the Moon. If learned men befriend other noble persons, they will
definitely benefit from such friendship in the long run, even if they may not be in need of any help.

Learning from others and expanding one's knowledge base can be personally enriching, fostering a sense of curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. This is why my Dad used to say always consider taking help from a matured or elder person, rather than reaching out to younger one. The elders always has some way or solution to every problems.
