Noble Words : Astronomy does not require any Proof !

People need proof for everything. Without proof there are contradiction and disputes over certain matters. Even the our platform is based on "proof of work" model. A contradiction occurs when two viewpoints clash, where one asserts something is true while the other asserts it is false. We require proof in the studies of science, mathematics or physics. There are theorem and calculation that require proof to be valid. However the study of Astronomy is not something that looks for any proof. And the same things is explained in following Sanskrit lines :

अप्रत्यक्षाणि शास्त्राणि विवादस्तत्र केवलं |

प्रत्यक्षं ज्योतिषं शास्त्रं चन्द्रार्को यत्र साक्षिणौ ||

Apratyakshaani shaastraani vivaadastatra kevalam.
Pratyaksham jyotisham shaastram chandraarko yatra saakshinau.

Apratyakshaani = imperceptible, invisible.
Shaastraani = various disciplines
of learning.
Vivaadastra = vivaadah + tatra.
Vivaad = contradiction, dispute with or about some thing.
Tatra = there.
Kevalam = only.
Pratyaksham = present before the eyes, real.
Jyotisham = Astronomy.
Chandraarko = Chandra + arko.
Chandra = the Moon.
Arko = the Sun.
Yatra = where.
Saakshinah = witnesses.

i.e. Contradictions and disputes arise only in the case of those disciplines of learning where the deductions are not backed by any visible proof. But this is not so in the case of Astronomy, as the Moon and the Sun are there as witnesses to the correctness of its deductions.

Astronomy is primarily an observational science. Unlike fields where experiments can be directly controlled and replicated in a lab, astronomers study the universe by observing celestial objects and phenomena from a distance. The study is solely dependent on the movement of Sun and Moon.

The sun's apparent movement across the sky throughout the year allows for tracking of seasons and timekeeping, crucial for navigation and understanding Earth's orbit. The moon's phases, caused by its changing position relative to the sun and Earth, define the concept of a lunar month and have been used for centuries for timekeeping and calendar creation.

The sun and moon are not just celestial objects in the sky. They are essential tools and subjects for astronomical research, providing insights into fundamental processes and phenomena across the universe.
