"A good friend in deed, is friends indeed". Friends always holds a importsntnplacenin everyone life. From.sharing sorrows to enjoying life, good friends is must to be with us. Good friends are there for us when we need them, and they can help us through difficult times. Good friends can help us feel less socially isolated and lonely. Therr are many quality of a good friends, but one genuine friend is alwsys tough in today's time.

I often see, people make use of friendship either for selfish reason. Finding a true friend that match a rapport is tough. Highlighting the importsnce of a true friends our Sanskrit have following verses :

अधममित्रकुमित्रसमागमः प्रियवियोगभयानि दरिद्रता|

अपयशः खलु लोकपराभवो भवति पापतरोः फलमीदृशं||

Adhama-mitra-kumitra-samaagamah. Priyaviyoga bhayaani daridrataa.
Apayashah khalu loka-paraabhavah . Bhavatipaapataro phalameedrusham.

Adhama = inferior, vile.
Mitra = friend.
Kumitra = bad friend.
Samaagamh = association with
Priyaviyoga = Priya + viyog.
Priya = dear, beloved.
Viyoga = separation.
Bhayaani = fear, perils.
Daridrataa = poverty, penury. Apayashh = defame, disgrace.
Khalu = surely, truly.
Loke = in the public, in the society. Parabhava = defeat, humiliation. Bhavati = happens, becomes.
Paaptaroh = paap + taroh.
Paap = sins, crimes.
Taroh = tree's
Phalameedrusham = Phala + eedrusham Phala = fruits.
Eedrusham = such, like this.

The lines simply states that "an association with inferior and vile friends results in separation from near and dear persons. There are always a sense of fear and perils of various kinds, penury, defamation and humiliation in public. Surely a tree of sins can bear only such bad fruits."

Associating a friendship with lowly and vile persons as a tree of sins and the consequences thereof to the bitter fruits of that tree, the lines has warned against such friendship.
