KOLEOSO: AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE WITH A BUT…
I can’t believe i just spent over 10 hours streaming a Yoruba nollywood movie that has no moral lesson, i mean not one bit. Honestly, I still can’t believe how I brought myself to watch a movie like this, although i have always been the kind of person who loves watching diabolical movies, i mean some of them not all, especially if it’s a movie that is starring my favorite actors and actresses. I won’t deny it, the main reason why I watched this particular one was because it starred one of my favorite actors, and also because it’s a movie that demonstrates the use of diabolical powers and some crazy level of incantations…
I didn’t even see the different parts of the movie coming. Like, i wasn’t expecting them to break it into different parts. This movie had 7 different parts with just one storyline. I blame this whole thing on boredom. If only I wasn’t extremely bored that day, I wouldn’t have found my way to YouTube streaming it first part. You guys shouldn’t get me wrong, i actually grew in an environment where movies likes these are streamed back to back. Actually, my dad is a big fan, I don’t know what diabolical and incantational movies got on him, he loves it so much…

In my younger days, my dad doesn’t come home every night without buying atleast one Yoruba nollywood diabolical movie. When it comes to movies like this, our opinion does not matter. He will buy it, bring it home, and watch it at the oddest hour of the day. Back then movies like this were mostly recorded on discs, with all different parts in just one disc. We call it selection movie…
My Dad would come back from work at around 10pm in the night and still watch movies that deal with witchcraft and incantations, with lots of unnecessary wickedness and diabolical acts. I understand it’s just a movie, but then it’s very scary, i’d say movies like that aren’t suitable for kids. Although my dad has never for once forced us to watch it with him, but then what are we supposed to do when it’s night, we are awake, and the only time we could watch movies as students was around that time of the day, and before we could even get up to watch our usual Korean movies, Our father who happens to be the head of the family tells us to remove whatever movie we have in the DVD and play him the movie he bought on his way home…
Do we argue with him? No. We have no other choice than to do his bidding. We are all awake, a movie like OLONGBO MEJE is been played, do you think going back to sleep will be easy? Most times my elder sister would leave us to go sleep, now it’s my elder brother, my dad and i, streaming THE SEVEN CATS at around 10:30pm in the night…

This is what i dealt with in my childhood, and that is exactly why I’ve always hated nollywood yoruba movies. Honestly, I enjoyed streaming KOLEOSO, I won’t deny that fact. That’s because in one way or another i love movies that’s has to do with Powers, be it mythical or terrestrial, i love it. I don’t watch movies like this if it’s not acted by an a known face. I watch them only if it stars my favorite actors, and that’s the main reason why I settled for KOLEOSO…
Koleoso is indeed a great movie, no doubt. It featured my favorite nollywood actor IBRAHIM YEKINI, which I enjoyed greatly. When it comes to moral lessons, I don’t think the movie has any direct moral lessons, although it has many indirect moral lessons, one of it being the importance of family, especially when they come together as one to fight against a larger threat…
I love the movie, the plot twist, the incantations, the power demonstrations, but then the fact that it didn’t have any direct moral lesson is not something i enjoy greatly. The fact that i streamed part 1-5 at a go is the funniest part. Every part left me craving for more. The movie really sold out well, it had lot of views and streams on YouTube, like many people had to wait for the next part patiently, and guess what? Our wait was just worth it. It was a great show with an interesting ending…

In conclusion, Koleoso was an amazing show, it was very entertaining. I will watch it over and over again because of how entertaining it was, but then that’s because i’m an adult. I know the difference between good and bad, unlike any young child out there…
An interesting movie with a BUT…
