FOLA: THE NEXT RATED ARTIST...

Fola; a 24 year old mind blowing afrobeat artist who started dominating the music industry with his exceptional voice and talent since late last year, which was actually when he joined the DAGBANA REPUBLIK. Dagbana Republik is a record label founded and owned by a well known and respected artist in the music industry. He goes by the name Bella Shmurda, Bella signed the young and talented artist last year to his record label. We didn’t know who Fola was until Bella Shmurda signed him and gave him a platform to showcase his work of art, which is music…

“Who does that” is a song we all woke up to one day and couldn’t get off our lips, this was a song he sang featuring his boss Bella Shmurda many months ago. This particular song literally threw him out there to the world, it literally made people notice him, and before we knew it he dropped another hit song featuring Bhadboi OML, then another featuring Magixx. We thought that was the end of his hits, and just as we were about resting on the tracks he had dropped, he delivered another hit remix titled ALONE featuring another iconic artist like himself Buju. He featured Bnxn in the remix of alone, and that was how he completely gained our attention…

Just as we were still getting used to the fact that we now have a new next rated artist in the Nigeria music industry, Fola decided to drop his Debut Album, the title of his debut album was “What a feeling”. During this period i was already his fan, i loved his songs and his style of singing so much, but then i didn’t know who he was, which means i only knew him from afar. I won’t even be able to recognize him if he is not singing, but after his debut album made waves in the country, I decided to dig deeper into him, and that was how I found out the face behind such extraordinary vocals and mind blowing lyrics…

After that revelation, i immediately became a true fan of his. Just few months after Bella Shmurda signed him to the Dagbana Republik, Fola blew his way up big time, he was featured in two different songs that ended up becoming hits, these songs topped the chart for months and was literally enjoyed and loved by everyone… Kiss Daniel; another iconic artist in the music industry decided to help his musical career by featuring him in two of his songs. Guess what, Fola delivered hundred percent in these two songs. These two songs "TITI" and "LOST" earned him lots of recognition since it was released months ago...

Buju also came in again the second time and featured him in his own song titled "VERY SOON", a beautiful collaboration that made people love FOLA the more. Another beautiful piece that made some massive waves after was his hit single "YOU", and just as we thought that was the end of his back-to-back waves, Fola announced to the public that he would be releasing his debut album soon. It was at this point i realized the first one he released was an EP and that his debut album is on it's way. A month after the announcement of his album, he released the title of his debut album; it was titled "CATHARSIS". We finally had something to look forward to. Few weeks after, he decided to give us it's release date, which happened to be 5th of september(last week), but before that, he decided to release one of the music in the album for us to enjoy while we prepare for the big release. Eko was released ahead of his debut album, and it was at this point we confirmed CATHARSIS was going to make another waves...

In conclusion, last week CATHARSIS was released at exactly 12 MIDNIGHT on the 5th of september, and since then the world has been vibing to every single song in that album.
