ECENCY: THAT ONE UNIQUE FEATURE…

Ecency; a wonderful and great community, with a frontend like no other. When I think of the ecency frontend, the only word that comes to my head is “simplicity”. I have been on the hive blockchain for over three years now, and if i am to be completely honest with you all, ecency is that one frontend i have always loved since the very first day i became a member of this beautiful platform. I was signed up using the hive.blog frontend, after creating an account using that frontend, my onboarder decided to introduce me to ecency frontend. At first I thought it was irrelevant and would have questioned him about the reason why I should get familiar with another frontend. I decided not to make that move and instead just went along with his teachings, not until after a few weeks did i come to realize the real reason he introduced me to ecency…

He sent me the link and showed me around just once, after that I decided to dig deeper to see what makes this particular frontend different from the others, and most importantly I wanted to know why it is the most used frontend. In just a week I figured out what made ecency special, unique and different from other frontends. The user friendliness of the frontend was something many users enjoyed and loved greatly. We had features like ecency points, post promotion, ecency leaderboard and so on to keep us glued to the frontend, and above that there were capable hands and brains behind the smooth running of not just the community but also the fromtend. A wonderful example of such brain is @melinda010100 mam, i have known her to be great leader and a wonderful moderator since my early days on the hive blockchain and also as a user of the ecency frontend…

She and the other able moderators made our experience on both the frontend and in their community more interesting and less confusing. Always ready and available to guide us when there’s an issue with not just the frontend but also in their community. Kudos to all the ecency team for the great job well done, especially in regards to their nonstop dedication towards making the frontend more accessible and user friendly to its users. Their efforts are recognized and we don’t take it for granted…

Now let’s head into the real reason why I’m here. Today, i will be sharing with you all what my favorite ecency feature is, and in addition to that will be my overall summary and general perspective of the frontend, stating what needs to be worked on to ensure a more efficient accessibility…

THAT ONE FEATURE…

I had two main reasons using the ecency frontend in the past, one of the reasons being the ecency points which is usually rewarded to every user of the ecency interface, which can also be used to boost and promote our posts for more visibility on the platform, the other reason being that i always want to be among the ecency weekly leaderboard, that way i’d win not just prizes but also get recognized by many other authors like myself on the blockchain. These were my two major reasons…

Everything changed when some of these benefits ended, I’m talking about the benefit of boosting our posts. Seeing how it came to an end, i had no reason to continue using the frontend, i was not interested in promoting my posts, the points were not of much use to me anymore. I thought of moving to a different frontend but then I couldn’t leave because it is user friendly than any other frontend. It was at this point I realized I wasn’t just here for the benefits and that i was here to enjoy my experience on the hive blockchain, which is something i have been getting since i became an ecency user…

I almost had a change of heart when i came back after a long break, as a result of school and many other activities. I left the frontend in more simple form than i met it. I got back here weeks ago and it felt like i was using a different interface. I wouldn’t know its ecency if not for its name and logo. I felt like a newbie and a stranger using the frontend weeks ago, I was lost, confused and overwhelmed by how much everything has changed. I couldn’t even say if it was a change for the better or worse…

I calmed down and decided to study the newly updated interface once again. After spending hours on it, I realized how amazing the latest update on the features was, and gradually started adapting to it…

I have been back for over two weeks now and guess what friends, it’s been interesting all the way, which brings me to the question asked…

My favorite ecency feature right now is the voice text/voice reading feature. I almost exited ecency when peakd added it to their interface months ago, so the moment i saw it upon my arrival, i realized there was no more reason to leave, and now it’s a feature i use most of the time, i love how the new interface is constructed, it’s looking more advanced and different in a good way. Now we have editor and classic editor, great…

In summary, the only problem I’m having with the frontend is on how to insert links in my post, i mean it’s now hard to source the images used in ones post. I don’t know if it’s a me issue or a general issue, regardless of which one it is, i hope it gets worked on soon…
