Sweet Scenery and Serenity: A Quick Trip to Our Family Farm in Dauin, Negros Oriental

Hello there, fellow Hivers! How's your week so far? We are now approaching the last few days of May, and this means that I am just days away from enjoying our summer break (as a teacher) here in the Philippines.

So last weekend, my sister and I decided to have some rest and relaxation at our family farm, here in the Philippines.

Whenever we want to take a break from the busy and bustling streets at the town center, we make it a point to pause, and take a break here in our little farm, a few kilometers away from the town proper.

When we got there, we were greeted with the amazing serenity of the trees, and the view of the cloudy skies above us. We were a bit thankful, since at least, it wouldn't be too sunny that day, and we get to stroll around a bit, without worrying about the scorching heat. We just took in the beautiful scenery that greeted us, and also walked around the place a little bit, since our small house on the farm is still under construction. We had to make a new one, after the old farm house caught fire last month. It was painful, but we had to move on, move forward, and not dwell on that painful and miserable experience. This is also another reason for my sister and I to visit as often as we can, so that we can erase that bad memory that we had, and replace it with new and more amazing ones.

FEEDING TIME: MUNCHING OVER MANGO LEAVES
We also tried feeding our cows there. We caught up with them taking a rest under the shade of the mango trees, and they were also eating up on the mango tree's leaves, so we handed them some branches for them to munch on. And the cows loved it!

Aside from the cows, we also got to see our growing family of chickens in the farm. It was also fun looking at the chickens during their feeding time too! There could have been more chickens, but since some of them laid their eggs on the old farm house, there were some eggs that did not make it, since they also got caught in the fire. But, we are still thankful and blessed since no one got hurt from our family. So that is something that we are forever grateful about.

It really is a much needed breather after a long and hectic week. Now that the week's over, my sister and I are looking forward again to spending another Sunday getaway to our small farm. I hope you had a fun time reading through my post, and have a great weekend ahead, fellow hivers!

All the best,
