Today I'm here to share an experience I had this week that I consider appropriate for this community. This isn't a step-by-step guide to creating a piece of jewelry, but it is closely related to goldsmithing and jewelry. It's the First Uneartista Goldsmithing and Jewelry Salon held in the nation's capital. It was a wonderful experience in which several friends I met at the University of Arts participated. The image I'm sharing above is the official flyer for the event. I didn't create it, but I thought it was appropriate to share it since I liked how it turned out. Credit to the designer who created it.
Hoy vengo a compartirles una experiencia que viví esta semana y que considero apropiada para esta comunidad, no es una publicación haciendo un paso a paso de la creación de una joya, pero si está relacionado de lleno con la orfebrería y la joyería; se trata del Primer Salón Uneartista de Orfebrería y Joyería que se realiza en la capital del país, una experiencia maravillosa en la que participaron varios amigos y amigas que he conocido en la universidad de artes. La imagen que comparto arriba es el flayer oficial del encuentro, no lo cree yo, pero considero apropiado compartirlo, ya que me gusto como quedo, créditos al diseñador que lo haya creado.
This First Goldsmithing and Jewelry Salon was organized by goldsmithing professors and students at the Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE). I thought it was a great initiative to showcase the meticulous work of these wonderful creators. The event was very well received by visitors for the opening, which took place at the art network's store located in the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, Venezuela.
Este Primer Salón de Orfebrería y Joyería fue organizado por profesores y estudiantes de orfebrería de la universidad experimental de las artes (UNEARTE) me pareció una muy buena iniciativa para dar a conocer el trabajo minucioso que realizan estos maravillosos creadores. El encuentro tuvo una muy buena recepción de visitantes para la inauguración que se realizó en la tienda de la red de arte ubicada en el Teatro Teresa Carreño en la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela.
A large number of students participated in three different categories: Goldsmithing (which, as my friends explained to me, refers to decorative objects that are not accessories), there was also the Jewelry category (which is basically pieces made of precious metals such as gold and silver), and finally the Costume Jewelry category (which includes all pieces that are accessories created with any material).
Participaron una gran cantidad de estudiantes en tres categorías diferentes, Orfebrería (que como me lo explicaron mis amigos, se trata de los objetos decorativos que no son accesorios) también estaba la categoría de Joyería (que es básicamente las piezas que son realizadas en metales preciosos como el oro y la plata) y por último la categoría de Bisutería (que abarca todas las piezas que son accesorios creados con cualquier material).
A jury held an awards ceremony to select a winning piece for each category. The first and second photographs above this paragraph represent the first and second place winners in the Goldsmithing category; the third photograph represents the first place winner in the Jewelry category; and the fourth photograph represents the first place winner in the Costume Jewelry category.
Realizaron una premiación con jurados para seleccionar una pieza ganadora por cada categoría, la primera y segunda fotografía arriba de este párrafo son el primer y segundo lugar de la categoría Orfebrería; la tercera fotografía es el ganador del primer lugar en la categoría de Joyería y la cuarta fotografía es la ganadora del primer lugar de la categoría Bisutería.
There were several special mentions for their mastery of techniques, designs, and use of materials. There were truly some excellent pieces presented in this exhibition. My respect to each of these artists, who demonstrate tremendous patience and precision in creating these highly detailed pieces.
Hubo varias menciones especiales, por manejo de técnicas, diseños y uso de materiales; de verdad se presentaron muy buenas piezas en esta exposición, mis respetos para cada uno de estos creadores que tienen mucha paciencia y precisión para realizar estas piezas tan detalladas.
All participants received their certificates of participation. My friends were very happy about this event, as it was the first time their efforts had been recognized and they had the opportunity to exhibit their creations to the public.
Todos los participantes recibieron sus certificados por participación, mis amigas estaban muy felices por este encuentro, ya que es primera vez que les reconocen sus esfuerzos y que tuvieron la oportunidad de exponer sus creaciones al público.
I hope this initiative can continue to be carried out more frequently each year to further encourage creation and strengthen the growth of this noble artistic practice, such as goldsmithing and jewelry. While attending this event, I was invited to participate in future events. If I have the opportunity, I will definitely participate with a creation; it will encourage me to expand my artistic abilities. This was truly a very rewarding experience. I hope you enjoy this post. Espero que esta iniciativa se pueda seguir llevando a cabo con más frecuencia cada año para seguir incentivando la creación y fortalecer el crecimiento de esta noble practica artística como es la orfebrería y joyería, estando en este encuentro me invitaron a participar en próximas ocasiones, si se me da la oportunidad, sin duda participare con alguna creación, eso me incentivara a expandir mis habilidades artísticas; de verdad esta fue una experiencia muy gratificante.
