Beach & Decay

Greetings to all photography enthusiasts. On this occasion, I want to share some photographs of an abandoned hotel located right by the shore, a place that has always caught my attention due to its quiet and enigmatic atmosphere.

This beach is actually one of my favorite spots in the city. It is usually very lonely, which allows for a genuine connection with the natural environment without the typical distractions of more crowded areas. I decided to visit during a very calm and cloudy afternoon, as the soft light provided by the overcast sky seemed perfect for capturing the weathered textures of the building.

The hotel itself is a structure with only a few floors, but it is quite extensive in terms of its footprint. I spent some time photographing the main structure, the remaining interiors, and the courtyard that once served as a parking lot in a different era. This outdoor space was particularly interesting because it has been almost entirely reclaimed by nature; flowers and vines have grown over the concrete, creating a stark contrast with the sand and the seawater that are just a few meters away.

Walking through the empty halls and seeing how the vegetation slowly takes over the construction gives a lot of perspective on the passage of time. The salt from the ocean has also left its mark on the walls, adding a layer of grit to the overall aesthetic. I simply wanted to document how this place sits in silence between the mountains and the sea. I hope the images reflect the stillness of the afternoon and the unique character of this abandoned site.

Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts. Until next time.
