Good or bad, beyond good morals, ethics and culture is definition and belief. Everyone has their own definition of what is good and what is bad. A young guy or lady speaking rudely to an adult who was wrong and wouldn't stop claiming being right can be seen right or wrong depending on individuals perspective or beliefs.

So, is anyone truly born good or bad. No, no one is, this is because a baby or infant cannot identify what is good or bad. An infant begins to learn majorly by sight and hearing of what people around say or do, mostly the parents of the infant. The infant grows and whatever he or she learns from home and environment grows with him/her. "Charity begins at home". It boils down to home, background and people around.

In as much as we are a product of our background and home we came from, each human has a mind and freewill at a point in life where he or she can do whatever is desired. This is when no one can directly enforce us to do good or bad, especially because we are now grown: the only resolve is advice mostly. Every human, as far as no longer a child is responsible for the outcome of their own lives. A bad person at this point has chosen to be a bad person not necessarily because of what he/she was taight or where he/she grew up but because it is now an intention and a belief. It's still choices. Dysfunctional home doesn't necessarily mean a child will grow up ti be bad or lack some key character: such child will still change environment, meet new people and learn new ways to do things, better approach to things.

A vivid example is a lady we grew up together in same environment, she bare wears her footwear when she is within the range of her house. She could walk barefooted anywhere 5 minutes away from her house, she got it from her guardian who doesn't wear slippers around (only when she is busy and is in a hurry to get something very close to the house). This lady picked up this same behavior of not putting on slippers, I tease her, my friends do, women would even tell her that she should not be doing such, it is so bad for a lady. She hasn't changed. Now, she knows but doesn't feel the need to change. Boils down to individual choice.

Some set of people in certain geographical location in Nigeria are know to be naturally insultive, oh dear, they are good at it. As long as they can talk, they can insult and some are quite lousy. This is a particular trait common in a larger population of people. Any child that grows up among this people is definitely going to pick that trait of being super insultive and maybe lousy. It can't be helped until they are exposed to something different and choose to embrace it.

How to make sure a child grow up to become a good person.......

Family and society determines this. Families make up a society, the kind of people and the shared/common beliefs, mindset and way of life is exactly what any child born in a society would emulate. You can't manifest what you don't know or haven't experienced. You'd meet someone and you can tell exactly where they came from, either by dress, hairstyle, accent, etc.

Being good or bad is learnt, yet the influence of choice is still a string determinant. Why are you not a bad person? Why are you not doing those bad things you tagged bad? What exactly does bad or good mean to you?.
