The Reasons Behind The Camera.
The word "sorry" or in a more better way "I'm sorry" is a powerful or should I say a magical word. It effects most times, is dependent on the intent of who is saying the word, also on it's being said to. There are instances where we genuinely say sorry and the recipient refused to believe that is was genuine for some reasons. We apologize for our wrong doing but saying sorry often make the word less effective especially when it's on the same repeated cause.
It is kinda common to see videos of people online to apologize to another person for their wrong doing. That's a big way to show how remorseful one is especially if the same medium (online) was used for the offense: everyone gets to see your apology.
The other side of this is the genuineness of the apology....
What was the intention of the person before coming up with apology video, why did he/she do what she did or said online, was it worth what happened? How intense was the reaction sparked online, the damage if there was any.
Some apologies will only happen because a job, some contracts, some brand and business deals needs to be saved: the need to save certain things. The apology may seem genuine but the truth lies in the heart of the one making the apology. Some other time, it was only to save their face. They are probably popular and they need to convince the world that they aren't that kind of person (after they've already acted like it).
At times the apology only came up because it was forced. People close to such person advised to because they know the effect it would have on the one making the apology video and then those who are related to the person one way or another. It's also to save reputation from being tarnished. We know how we humans will do almost anything to keep our reputation intact, increasing and never to decrease.
And, few times the apology made online was only done because of threats. You'd see people come online with an apology video and the reason behind was not because they felt bad for whatever they had done but because they need to do it to save themselves from a threat
Knowing that sometimes apology videos might not be genuine there are other ways to which we can apologize.
A thoughtful written statement is a way a person can apologize for his/her wrong doing whether on Instagram, X,o r Facebook. A well written apology can be very thoughtful but the important thing is how it is being written, to know a genuine apology statement, the statement is going to include a part where the person apologizing takes responsibility for his/her actions, acknowledge and accept the harm that has been done, it will also include how the person is going to do better moving forward.
Another way to show a genuine apology is by highlighting the apology, if you are apologizing publicly online pin the apology statement on your profile so people can see it and so that they don't have to start looking for it. It shows that you are not trying to bury the matter but you are being accountable for your actions.
