I CAN'T AFFORD TO MISS THIS WEDDING AND BIRTHDAY.

There are few important anniversaries I am gladly waiting for this year, but only 2 seems to be the most important for now.

We are 3 children in the family, I have two older sisters and I am the last born. According to norms and tradition, the first born is meant to get married first, follow by the next child, according to age. It wasn't the case in my family as our second born was the first to get married. My parents did not want to allow the marriage at first because it is not right (traditionally) but they later accepted that it was meant to happen.

My eldest sis used to have guys disturbing her while in secondary school but never had anyone after graduating secondary school, even after university. Finally, someone asked her out during her NYSC days but it did not end well at all. While all these were happening, my second sister had already found someone she would marry but was waiting for our eldest sister. She even kept it a secret for a while so as not to make our eldest sis sad in any way. But later on, my parent began questioning and asking my second sister to bring a man home.

She did and in 6 months, the marriage preparation had started. November 2022, my second sister got married and it was a blissful marriage. I thought I would enjoy the reception and food but I was too busy sorting out food and drinks with my friends.

Glory to God, my eldest sister found someone again and they already had their engagement rites last year. You know what's next.... the wedding ceremony and I really can't wait for it to happen. Surely, it is this year and I know I would be in school, but do I care ?. I will never miss her wedding.

My second sister now has a child, a big baby girl, she gave birth a week to her 1st wedding annivesary. I guess she and her husband planned it to fall on their wedding date but it did not work like they wanted.

I couldn't go for the naming ceremony of her child because I was far away from them. I was really pained and I could not put a call through because the ceremony was a busy day for them. I made a video call later that week to see the face of my niece, I was so happy, felt like crying when I saw my niece. She is beautiful and big, at that moment I wished I could wrap my hands around her.

This year, I must see my niece and her parents. I plan to visit them when my niece will clock a year old and that is around November. I miss my sister too and I am so sure she would not want me to leave once she sees me. I plan God bless me so much before then so I can get the things I have in mind for my niece and her family.
