Honestly social media has a lot of influence not just on adolescents but everyone including elderly people but adolescents are the major topic because it causes more damage to them due to the fact that they don't know when to stop and what to be engaged with.
Adolescents I feel is a stage of curiosity,I mean I was once there, becoming curious of everything, want to know everything in fact most adolescent decided their future because of curiosity
This adolescent goes online to watch both good and bad videos, so because they are at their stage of curiosity they mostly want to try whatever they watched.

Now social media is not totally bad it has it good and bad influence on the adolescent so I can't advise they are stop from it
Most adolescent get affected by the influence of social media because they lack guidance, restriction, monitoring and advice
The only way I feel it should be attended to is by giving them guidance, at home,in the school,in the church and also in the society
Restrictions also matter,they should be restricted on what site to visit if possible that if the guardian is not around to monitor them.

Guardian should have time for their adolescents, talk to them and know what they have been up to, lack of attention towards them is the major reason I feel we lose them to social media, most adolescent don't even know that whatsoever they watched is bad or good they just believe since they can have access to it then is not bad,they need someone to enlighten them one it, so yeah parental guardians is important
Lastly as a parent or guardian always pray because most times no matter how much you teach or punish your adolescent the result sometimes is still not good,so I feel alongside the guardians, mentoring and advice prayers is also needed
