The Spoon that Caught a Shadow: A Day in My Life

How happy is the man who puts his trust in God!

I woke up this morning with so much excitement on my face, mostly because of my time spent studying the Bible and having more encouraging moments with the Holy Spirit. Trust me, I felt His presence, and we were talking just like a father and his daughter about the week and how it has been amazing.

I spent more than 2 hours because I woke up at 5 am and did my devotion till after 7 am. That felt refreshing and enriching!

I dashed into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I thought of jumping into my daily exercise, which I have been consistent with for over 3 weeks now, but my spirit decided to do something else. I played a gospel song for a duration of 25 minutes. It was a danceable song that made me feel alive. I danced until I’d sweated it out, which had to replace my exercise since that was what I wanted.

I love to praise God in my room. It has been helpful because it’s a way of being encouraged and being grateful for what God has done. A happy man shows gratitude every time. Give thanks in all circumstances for it is God’s will for us - 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 18. Though it’s hard to give thanks when you are not feeling happy but it’s worth it because unseen battles have been won in the mood of giving thanks.

When I was done dancing and was satisfied, I entered the kitchen to make some coffee since it had been a long time since I tasted coffee. I had no milk and thought to make it like that.

I thought of doing something fun while taking some photos. I placed my hand on the coffee, where it showed the shadow of my hand, and I captured it. I’m not sure if it turns out nice, but I like it - at least I'm doing something fun and it makes me smile. I have been in the mood for happiness since the beginning of the day, and I wouldn’t want to lose that feeling.

It’s the weekend and I can’t wait to see a new week. At the end of every week, I feel so good because it’s that time I flash back to how things have been for me. God has been faithful and consistent in His goodness to those who love Him.

The day is still young. I wouldn’t be doing much today - want to relax, listen to music, dance and watch movies. We will resume activities fully by next week, and until then, we wish everyone a happy weekend. Make sure to stay happy and never let worry take away the joy in you.
