My Morning Game ~ LOH #270

I know the difference between starting one's morning on a good note and a bad note. The latter can be awful in the end, and no one wants to relive that experience over and over. We all want to have a great and productive day and it all starts with our mornings.

The morning is always an important part of the day as it determines how the rest of the day will be. For years, I have enjoyed my day and that's because of how I spent the morning and do not take it for granted. In fact, I have the principle of not taking breakfast unless I am done with all my work for the first part of the day.

This is because I understand my body and once I've eaten anything, the rest of the day would be ruined, and I would find myself forcing things to go well. I have my morning routine I have adapted to for a few years now, and I can tell you that it has affected the most powerful part of each day.

Waking up in the morning actually depends on my mood; sometimes I wake up as early as 5 am and other times, it would be past 6 am because I didn't want to leave my bed, especially knowing I have nowhere to go. I have been my own boss for a while and no one to dictate how I live the day, except for God.

On this note, the first thing I do when I wake up is to say the words, "Thank you, Jesus for another beautiful day," and "Good morning, dear Holy Spirit." I love to do this first to keep my mental state alert, that I am not the only one in my room, but with the presence of the invisible Trinity.

I have heard from lots of people how they'd say once they wake up, they talk to God before their feet touch the ground. But for me, I like to go to the bathroom to ease myself to clear my eyes open for my morning devotion. Then, onto studying the Word of God and praying to God.

I have believed that this is always the best part of one's day, especially if you want to have a fruitful day. Since my life is committed to the Lord’s hand, He is responsible for guiding me to do His will, not mine. So, in my prayer, I ask, "What's your plan for me today, Lord?" and I get the instructions from the Word of the day.

I usually take my time in His presence; sometimes, it's more than 2 hours and other times, less than an hour. I take my time to get the instructions for the day and how to live my life in the way that pleases Him. This then sets the tone for the rest of the day.

After that, I open my windows, look out to the sky, marvelling at the beauty of God and move on to doing the next thing on my plate. For days when I need to do my laundry, after my prayer, I immediately do that and enter the kitchen to see what needs to be done. Many times, I try to take mental note of what I would need to stock in and then get on to do other things.

But when I do not have any laundry to do, I simply sit on my blue chair, pick up my phone to read a novel and other times, I check YouTube to listen to a short sermon or watch gospel reels to inspire my day. I do not eat until 12 pm and above, so it gives me time to do other things I need to do.

There are some mornings when I don't have much to do, my mood only wants to watch movies, which I don't hesitate to do - this is why I try to download movies at midnight so I wouldn't be bored for the day. But the major part is listening to music and dancing in the room to praise God.

As I do this, I wait expectantly for anything I never plan for to pop up, and when it's something that pleases God, I get up immediately, never to slack.

You have a beautiful routine to start your day and some of them are similar to how I begin mine.

In fact, I have the principle of not taking breakfast unless I am done with all my work for the first part of the day.

Yeah, this is similar to some of my siblings. For me, most times I need to eat something before I start any work, even if it's any fruit available.

Thanks dear, for sharing your daily routine with us.

Yeah, for most people, they prefer to eat something to start their day’s work. It’s all about knowing what works for us. Thank you so much, Winanda.

That's true, understanding our body and what works keeps us going.

You're most welcome dear.

I agree with you, having a great and productive day starts with the best attitude we have at the beginning of the morning, just as you describe in your morning game. Have a lovely afternoon!,

Each Christian I've come to know has a slightly different morning routine and I think God enjoys the little differences, approach, cultural, variety and style of each person's walk. Nothing is beyond his knowledge @princessbusayo.
