Can I take your orders, please?

In the beginning, I remembered how I avoided someone trying to give me a job to make these snacks because I wasn’t confident in myself since I couldn’t do it better then.

Every time I try making puff puff, there is always an error here and there; if it’s not soaked in too much oil, that when I am eating, one would think I am drinking oil, it might be that I didn’t add the desired yeast to it and it wouldn’t rise as it should which would make me wonder how come? Or that I didn't get the measurements right.

How about making it flat, as if it were pancakes? I would get annoyed at every practice, but I didn’t give up. That even encouraged me the more to continue until I can confidently do it right.

Along the line, when my younger sister would send some of the puff puff she made for clients or at events, I used to get jealous of how hers turned out and many times, I would ask her to guide me, and she'd give me the instructions, which I would put into practice, but still, wouldn’t get it.

Later on, a friend suggested that I allow the oil to heat very well before scooping the dough, and I kept trying every suggestion until I made it perfect. The day I got the perfect round shape, my joy knew no bounds! I screamed as if I had achieved a great result, and yes, that was it for me.

I couldn’t be more excited than that, and it gave me the confidence that I can now take orders without being afraid. Although the only problem there is that I might not do it to the taste of others in the aspect of sugar. I don’t eat sugar, and so, I am mindful of the quantity I add to my puff puff.

Not long after that, the first marriage seminar I attended, it crossed my mind to make some snacks along so we could eat and have fun. I know it was the Holy Spirit who directed me. I did that, and the other ladies who ate gave me a good review. They enjoyed it.

The next time we would be going for another seminar, they pleaded that I do some puff puff because they really liked it. I felt proud of myself. So, this is how it feels to get good reviews about something to the extent that you start taking orders? I love this.

Then came another opportunity. The next one I did, I made sure it was much, and to me, it’s something I could call being generous and kind to share what I have with others without demanding any money. I would definitely do it again and again for people as my act of service to them.

Guess what? A male friend came visiting, and when I entertained him with some puff puff, he got home and disclosed how he enjoyed the snacks and would want me to do more in case he comes around again. It’s so amazing to do something and keep trying it without giving up until I achieve the result I wanted.

Now, I’m onto the next goal. It’s time to get on to making doughnuts. I only made these snacks two times; one was in the year 2016/2017 when I was in the business, and the second time was when I was in 300 level, which I did once, and since then, it hasn’t crossed my mind to give it a try again. Since I have gotten a good result with puff puff, I want to try doughnuts and keep trying until I become perfect at it.
