Wedding cake disaster

"Good morning ma," Anita, Shade's apprentice greeted as she entered the shop.

"Good morning how are you doing," Shade replied.

"Fine ma," Anita replied with a smile, they had a few minutes chat before cleaning and preparing for the day.

"We have a wedding cake to deliver this weekend," Shade said to her apprentice.

"Oh that's great, it's been a while since I attended a wedding," Anita replied.

The next day happens to be Friday, the day to the wedding, Shade and her apprentice worked so hard to get the wedding cake done and it was beautiful.

Shade couldn't stop taking pictures of the cake and after satisfying herself with the cake pictures she said, "Anita please pack up we are closing early today so that we won't be late for tomorrow".

"Ok ma I will do just that," Anita replied.

"Arrrh, am so tired this morning," Shade muttered as she struggled to get out of bed.

She took her phone to check what the time says, "Ah it's 9 a.m. already" She rushed down to the bathroom to freshen up and headed out immediately. On her way out, the Uber driver that carried her nearly had an accident because Shade pressured him to speed up.

"Madam you have to calm down and let me drive," the Uber driver told Shade because of the way she was shouting at him to drive faster.

"Am sorry sir but I don't want to be late to where I am going," Shade replied the Uber driver.

"Then you should have woken up early," the Uber driver replied angrily.

They got to Shade's shop and she quickly grabbed the cake and went back into the Uber.

"Can we go now sir," Shade said as she balanced the cake on her laps immediately the Uber moved forward Shade put a call through to Anita so that she could come and help her to hold the cake, but Anita didn't pick so Shade dropped her phone inside her purse then hold the cake so tight because it had three steps.

The Uber got to the street where the wedding was going to be held and he didn't pay attention to the road well, they were almost there when Shade's phone rang in her purse, grin...

"Who is calling me while I am busy like this?" She asked angrily while trying to take the phone from her purse.

The Uber driver on the other side didn't notice the pit on the road and immediately the vehicle entered the pit, two steps from the cake Shade was holding shifted and nearly fell from the transparent wrap.

"Ahhh," Shade shouted and the driver asked angrily, "Hope there is no problem ma?"

"What do you mean hope there is no problem?" Shade asked with a very harsh tone.

The Uber driver parked immediately to see what went wrong, while Shade couldn't say anything other than, "I am finished, ah what do I do now?"

The driver came down to see how the wedding cake design was scattered inside the transparent nylon then he said, "Sorry ma'am but how did this happen? I thought you were holding it tight?"

Shade looked at him with tears full in her eyes and then replied to him, "You are supposed to pay attention to the road, this is not an express that you can race anyhow now you have ruined a wedding cake I was supposed to deliver now"
"Sorry ma," the Uber driver replied.

"Just drive down to the venue," Shade replied him.

They got there and Shade checked her phone to see who made her remove her hands from the cake and it was her apprentice, Shade put a call through to her and then shouted.
"Why are you disturbing me?"

Anita on the other hand couldn't say anything because of how angry Shade sounded.

Shade described the location to Anita and then told her to bring some stuff so that she could at least patch the cake up.

"What is this rubbish cake you came with?" The elder sister of the bride screamed at Shade immediately when she saw how the cake designs scattered inside the nylon.

"Sorry ma, my girl is bringing some materials now I will patch it up ma," Shade replied with a confused look.

"It better look good after patching it up, if not you are refunding part of my payment," the bride's sister said and went back inside.

Shade did patch the cake when Anita arrived but then the cake didn't look good again so she had no choice but to return part payment for ruining the wedding cake.
