The making of yam pepper soup
Hello everyone welcome to my food blog, My name is princess-dara and it's my first time participating in creative Sunday initiative. I love cooking and wish I had been sharing my food here I am always busy at work and that is why I find it difficult to make this kind of post. But as time goes on I will be making more of this post.
Today I will be preparing yam pepper soup.
Yam pepper soup is the addition of yam to pepper soup instead of just ordinary pepper soup. I got this idea of soup from a friend because she loves pepper soup so much and I wanted to be creative about mine adding extra ingredients to my pepper soup makes it unique.
I love the taste and the outcome as well.
Ingredients are:
Yam
Basil leaf
Ginger
Fish
Cow skin
Maggi and salt
Oil
Pepper soup powder
Black pepper
Onion
Procedure
Everything must be washed before I start cooking and after that, I can continue with my cooking.
I peel my yam, wash it and then cut it into small cubes before putting them inside the pot to per boil.
The next thing is cutting the cow skin into smaller pieces after washing it thoroughly.
Chopping my basil leaf is the next thing and I rinsed it after that then set it aside as well.
I wash my fish and then keep it in a clean bowl.
Step 1
I put water in a clean pot pour my cow skin inside the water add salt, and then slice my onions in it and leave it for some minutes to boil.
Step 2
This is the part where to add all the ingredients like black pepper, oil, maggi, basil leaf and I let it boil for a minute before adding my per boiled yam inside. Then cover it for a minute again so that everything will steam together.
Step 3
Now it's time to add the remaining ingredients like the pepper soup powder, ginger, and the fish then cover it for 3 minutes to cook very well because this is the last part where everything has to get done.
Step 4
My yam pepper soup is ready to eat as you can see in the picture.
I eat a lot of pepper during the harmattan and after preparing it with yam, there will always be an addition.
You can use potatoes as well, whether Irish or sweet, you can use plantain or cocoyam. They will all go well in your pepper soup.
Nice cooking lady, I will also try this recipe once I'm chanced
You should and I know you will love it
