Life’s unexpected twists and turns

I am just a girl who has been trying to survive and to get balanced with what life has brought to me. Nobody can predict what life is going to bring to them, and that is why we must not live for today alone.

Sometimes life is funny to the extent that what you planned for is never going to come through, but what you never wished to do is what you will keep getting all the time, and it is now left for you to decide on how to balance yourself with what you have.

Life has taught me that no condition is permanent, and what you do today is what you will get tomorrow.

My mom always says something like, “No one knows tomorrow because the person you ignore today might be your helper tomorrow, so be kind to everyone you come across in life.”.
I never understood those phrases until I became an adult, and life taught me so many things that I will never forget in my life.

It happens that there was a man in my former workplace; he was a family man, but then the salary that we were paid was not enough for him and his family. Meanwhile, I was single, and I had a side hustle back then. Aside from my salary, I have a small business I was running, which was selling snacks in the factory and in my neighborhood; it gives me daily money.

The day that man told me how he has been struggling to feed his family, I felt bad about it, but then I was only managing myself as well, so I told him if he could be selling the snacks with me, I could be paying him daily money from the little I was earning as well. That was just a childish joke I made, but he took it seriously and agreed to do it so that he could at least have transport money every day, which would relieve him from spending from his salary.

I always come to work with the snacks, and we usually divide them into two, and at the end of the day, I always give them out of my profits for the day. To say the truth, it wasn’t easy for me, but I was happy I could put a smile on someone’s face when I had the power too.

Later the factory closed down, and everyone found their way, which I went back to learn a handwork for some years. After that, I planned to get a shop. I have paid for the shop, but the landlady didn’t give me keys on time just because she needed to renovate the old shop.

One day I got angry and went to the landlady’s house only to find the man that I was paying little change for selling snacks for me some years back; he happened to be the landlady’s husband. What a coincidence; well, that is life.

So we exchanged greetings, and he gave me a better shop that was newly built. Then I asked how he got all the money within a few years, and all he could say was that life has its own way of bringing people up, so he gave me discounts for the shop rent while he explained to his wife how I used to pay him little amounts out of the small business I was running some years back.

I couldn’t believe he has all that within a few years, but we can’t predict what life has for us, like I said before, and then I understand my mom’s phrase that we should always be good to people we come across because no condition is permanent.
