Childhood dream

As humans, the moment we have the knowledge of life we begin to think of what we want and how we want our future to be. Everyone in life has a dream occupation but sometimes life says no to it because what we are dreaming of might not be what God has in plan for us.

Having a dream occupation is good though it doesn't work out for so many people but yet some people were able to get what they have dreamt of right from childhood.

I have said before in some of my posts what my dream occupation was and how I switched my dreams along the line so it's not a new thing to talk about anymore but I just to shed more light on the reason why I couldn't get my dream job is what I will be sharing today.

What is your dream occupation as a kid?

When I was a kid, my mom was a native nurse and I don't like all the herbs she always cooks for pregnant women that come for anti-natal in her place.

Let me break it down, what I meant by a native nurse is that she practices traditional medicine. She does make use of herbs and roots to cook make tonic, concoction and others for her patients.

There was a particular day she did herb for someone and the person brought the herb back that the odour was terrible after keeping it for some weeks and my mom replied that she has ignore the odour and drink it. I shouted where I was seating down listening to their conversation because I could perceive the odour from some distance.

That day I told her, "Mom I want to become a doctor when I grow up so that some pregnant women won't have to drink all this in the name of taking care of the baby inside the womb" She smiles and replied, "you don't know anything, when you reach that bridge you will understand" and truly I didn't know anything back then but what I saw that day was irritating.

Another thing that made me want to become a doctor was because I love their neatness, from what I learned from my mom, a doctor that treats humans must not be dirty if not he or she will put people's life at risk.

I am sure you all must have remembered my dream occupation which is being a doctor, and all I was doing for my mom back then was to learn a little about doctoring so that when I finally enter school, it won't be new to me.

I was able to grab some injections names, and how to treat wounds lol don't laugh at me yet I was just 15 years old back then and all I wanted was to become a doctor without knowing what life has for me.

I tried my possible best, I went to science class because of that and the funniest part is that I found biology fun to study so I thought that medical school won't be that hard since I love any subject that has to do with it.

Are you doing it now?

The answer is "NO" The main reason why I didn't get to do my dream job is because the dream was killed even before it started. When I finished secondary school, my mom couldn't afford any medical school and she had other children to deal with as well.

My school fee was like thrice my sibling's school fee so she told me to quit dreaming and I did because I know that if she had the capacity, she wouldn't hesitate to send me to the best medical school in the world.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hmm... Getting into the medical line is not an easy thing to do. For most people, the finance is usually the issue at hand.

I also wanted to get into the medical line, but my issue was more complex that the finances. Haha. I couldn't even perform beyond average in my SS1 science courses. Lol.

Well Done, Princess. You are still doing well where you are 👍.

Sometimes we have to make decisions to give up our dreams and aspirations because of the situation at home.

Aww, sorry, it's not always easy when dreams are hindered by circumstances. I'm hoping the path you are on is atleast a bit enjoyable. Who knows, maybe in the future you may even pursue your dream again.

Many factors come to play in actualizing one's dream. The one that alter your dream was beyond your control. I hope you settled for another career and if so, give your best and reach the peak.

Finance, the reason why a lot of dreams remain unfulfilled. Who knows what life would have looked like if you had become a doctor?

There is really nothing to be sad about as long as we are doing what we love. Wishing you success in your endeavours.

You are right, even during final year project. Science departments spend more than others

Sometimes life doesn’t always go as expected because we may face obstacles here and there. But at the end of the day, I guess you’re doing something you love and that’s all that matters.
