Animals and me: a complicated story

I have never been a fan of animals; being a wild or domestic animal, I don’t like any of them. Even the so-called fish that I eat every day—I can’t stand it if it is alive, so when people talk about zoos, I always tell them to count me out of it.

Don’t get me wrong, animals are good; in fact, it’s fun to have them around, but that’s if you can cope with them and you can handle them as well. Unlike me, who can’t handle them, and that is why I can never have any of them with me.

Aside from human beings, I can’t touch anything else that has life in it, and I am not proud of that, but I can’t deny the fact that I get scared a lot when it comes to animals.

Left to me, I would have preferred all animals to remain in the forest where they belongbecause I see no reason for them to live among humans when all we can do with them is to lock them in a cage or kill some for food.

If they are in the forest, at least they will be as free as they wanted and also move around anytime they like; unlike when they are among humans, they will not need to stay caged or wander around the streets for nothing but scaring people who can’t handle them.

There was a time I wanted to skip a day in school when I was in secondary school, and I left home like every other kid, but on getting to my friend’s house, I couldn’t enter their gate because her dad’s dogs were not caged, and immediately I opened the gate, and the dog jumped at me. Though I was lucky it didn’t hurt me, I ran for my dear life, and the dog pursued me until we got to their junction, and one brother helped me to chase him back.

I was so scared because that was the first time I got attacked by a dog, though I didn’t get physically injured, but ever since then I dislike dogs generally, and I also vow never to visit any house that has a dog.

When I became an adult, there was a day a dog nearly attacked me again, all thanks to my husband for coming to my rescue. The dog and its owner were coming from the back, and you guys know how dogs walk ahead of their owners.

I didn’t know what prompted the dog, but all I could see was that I landed on my husband’s back immediately, and the dog barked and made a move to jump at me.

The owner was laughing at me, and he said he can’t do anything, but I don’t believe that because a week before then I heard that a dog attacked one little boy in our street, and the boy got hurt so bad, so I couldn’t wait to see if the dog was playing or not.

The truth is that animals will always be animals, either wild or domestic, so I don’t think having them around me will be a good idea.

That dog owner is not serious for laughing, they expect everyone to be dog lovers but life isn't so, they should learn to respect others opinion and know their boundary.

This is the first post that explains the reasons for not loving animals. If we all live in the same neighborhood, it is most important for all of us to respect each other.
