A source source of anxiety and motivation

The world is changing from when we were kids, and that is why someone needs to stay strong, focused, and, of course, hardworking for the person to conquer whatever challenges the changes bring, even in the future.

Gone are those days that our mothers made use of little change to prepare food for the family; gone are those days when our fathers came home with different nylons full of groceries. Now it’s another different story entirely because the changes in the world affect everyone dramatically; even the rich people are complaining of the same thing poor people are complaining about.

There are lots of situations I have been through, and I never break down simply because my mom made me understand that no condition is permanent; they will definitely leave someday, and that is if I don’t let it break me down. So yeah, I am struggling and also hoping for a better life, which I knew wouldn’t come easily because nothing good comes easily.

What can give me anxiety if not money? One Nigerian artist named“ Teni” sang a song titled “Money,” and the lyrics say, “Money can’t buy you happiness, money can’t buy you love, money doesn’t fill the emptiness.”

Well, I wouldn’t say she lied, but come to think of it, someone with empty pockets can’t be happy and also can’t find love either; moreover, such a person will definitely be feeling empty every day of his or her life, so to some extent money can make someone happy.

I saw a quote that says, “A broke man is a dead man,” funny, right? But it is nothing but truth. Imagine a fully grown-up man who can’t feed his family. Such a person will definitely be looked down on even by the family members.

There is nothing that gives me more anxiety and sleepless nights than money because when there is money, some problems are solved. Imagine someone being sick and such person doesn’t have money for treatment; such person will definitely be thinking of death automatically since there is no money to buy his or herself some time.

I remember when I got sick around 12 years old, a boy pushed me off the balcony, and I fell and broke one leg. My mom couldn’t afford to take me to the hospital, so instead she took me to church. Does the church treat such patients? Lol, that was the question I always asked myself anytime I remembered that experience, but she didn’t have a choice; she needed help.

Someone in the church who knows a nurse was the one who helped us; if not, I might probably have one leg by now because if I don’t get treatment, then the leg will be gone.

So money gives most people anxiety because it is the main problem most people have nowadays. Imagine how expensive foodstuffs are in the market now, and some people have five kids to feed every day. Such people can not be happy for not having money to feed their kids, and that is when anxiety comes in; depression will follow, and of course desperation wouldn’t stop simply because they want to provide for their family at all costs.

How do I plan to tackle this money issue? Well, there is no other way than to reduce my cost of living and try to save up more than before because I don’t know what next month will look like. Here in my country you can never be too sure of the next minute, so making sure to have a backup savings is the only way to survive every single day over here.

I once read somewhere, "If money can't buy you happiness, you actually don't know what to buy" makes sense, doesn't it?

Well, I agree money cannot buy everything but money is immensely important to buy several things for a good living which in turn have an effect of our emotional health.
