Now, water festival , Thingyan in Burmese, Songkran in Thailand and Laos, and the Cambodian, is near and I can find many MTV songs promoting their own culture. The culture of throwing water could be sourced to Hindu culture (Wikipedia) and the imported culture had been modified over a hundred years and became distinct culture events to Burmese, Thai, Tai, Laos and Cambodia. Our Tai people also have this water festival to celebrate new year and their culture is well maintained and promoted in Yunan province, China, where they are known as Dai, There, they have a degree of autonomy to maintain their culture and administrative independence such as preserving their language and traditions. And because the water festival is near, they promoted the festival with some MTV song and the following is one of them.

Nevertheless, I am happy to see the Dai people are promoting their water festival event and I hope to join them one day.
